We provide carpet and upholstery cleaning to homes and businesses as we have since 1971. We also have a certified rug washing plant on our premises specializing in oriental rug washing and other specialty rug washing as well as synthetic and natural fiber area rug washing. ABC provides oriental rug repair (as well as other area rug repairs) on our premises.
We offer anti-allergen green cleaning at all times. Our products are derived from seeds and are entirely biodegradable and non-toxic. Our technicians are certified and our equipment is state-of-the-art.
We have available a selection of rug underlayment (pads) especially formatted for oriental and specialty rugs. We can also apply Soil and Stain Protector to your area rugs as well as your wall-to-wall carpets and your upholstery in your home or business.
ABC provides moth and dust-mite protection as well as guaranteed pet odor removal (urine, feces and vomit) from wool and other natural fibers.
History
Established in 1971.
Ken Adams started Adams Building Cleaners in 1971, pressure-washing trailer homes in nearby trailer parks. The business expanded to include numerous business contracts in and around Tompkins County for Janitorial Services. In 1982, carpet and rug cleaning capabilities were added, as well as a rug cleaning plant at 1754 Danby Road. In 1993, the cleaning facility and offices were moved to downtown Ithaca to 720 West Green Street. In 2003, ABC purchased its permanent home at 130 Cecil Malone Drive in downtown Ithaca, NY. We have been continuously servicing this area’s cleaning needs since 1971.

Business Owner
Ken Adams has been involved with the business since its inception and has continued his training throughout the last 40 + years. He was President of the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) (now Restoration Industry Association (RIA) in 2004. He is a consultant with many other carpet and rug cleaning and oriental rug repair firms nationwide.
