I was excited to study here but customer service is not great. He had run out of sandwiches and I really didn’t want any of the other options he suggested. This seemed to upset him. He said that there would be muffins later and that he could make a sandwich out of that and I said that was great. But by this time he seemed to run out of patience. I mentioned I was a vegetarian and I asked him what sandwiches he had. He proceeded to tell me bacon egg and cheese and gave me no other options. Meanwhile I overhear him tell other customers about all the vegan and vegetarian options they had. I found this funny but definitely won’t be coming back. I may have taken some time to make up mind but I was definitely not rude. I was just being a bit picky. 2 stars for the lighting. I get some natural sunlight in here and that’s nice. There is also a fair amount of space.

The two stars is for the cozy atmosphere and the delicious coffee. It would be higher though the only person ever working here is a pompous ogre. Blatently rude to me every time I’ve tried to purchase something. You can get good coffee anywhere; if it weren’t above my favorite book shop I’d never spend any money here because of the discourteous employee.

If you are looking to support a local business and get a strong cup of coffee, look no further than the Crow’s Nest Café, right above the Autumn Leaves Used Bookstore. This is an IDEAL place for any student or graduate student to get some real work done, as it is a huge space, well air-​conditioned, and QUIET. Fresh sandwiches, made to order, cookies the size of your head (and delicious), as many teas as the eye can see — this is a Mom and Pop café at its best.
The entire venue is pirate-​themed, but the owner doesn’t commit robbery — sandwiches are huge and reasonably priced, and the coffee is STRONG. It is simple fair, but you will feel like your pop made is fresh just for you.
Vegan options abound (and are sometimes better than those with meat), including a vegan BLT and grilled cheese!
