Alpike Inn & Suites

This place will provide you a bed to sleep on and a roof over your head, but I STRONGLY recommend spending more and going elsewhere. The Alpike is a small 2-​story motel off US 23. The rooms are spacious enough, but cleanliness just doesn’t seem to be a priority. Our room had stained carpet (was that blood?) and one of the chairs in the room was not only ripped up and broken down, it literally appeared to have feces on it. And not just a little bit. The shower had the previous occupants used soap still in it.
The room had a fireplace, a microwave, and offered wi-​fi (although I couldn’t get it to work). It was last updated, I would guess, in approximately 1990. The sheets were laundered, but the blankets were not. There were visible skin flakes stuck to the blanket under the bedspread.
The price was only $ 60 for the night, but we opted to move hotels and pay, literally, twice as much elsewhere. It was well worth it.
