Nice and simple. Went in, paid the $ 40 fee, and then sat down for the class. The owner was some friendly Indian guy. He came to greet us and talked with us about his experience when he first took a driving test towards the end of the course.

Please get your training through Azad. He is very patient to make things easier for you. I am personally a little hyper in nature, Azad made sure that I can keep myself calm while practicing. I took my test within one month of practice and voila, I passed in my first attempt. Thanks Azad and the entire team of Himalayan driving school.

I went to the school to have a package with driving lessons 5 hour pre licensing course speedy road test date and car for the road test. They quoted me a price of $ 230. They said they will call me back once date is available. They called me after continuous follow up after 2 weeks stating they have a date for 30^th dec in Long Island city. I told them I don’t need lessons any more. They said in order to get that test I need to pay now $ 270 without the lessons. They are just trying to rip you off when you show them how important it is for you to get the license. I would never recommend anyone this place. They know my job is dependent on the license and I bymistakely told them when I first went over there. Highly unprofessional behavior with the company. Unnecessary price rise. As per the previous conversation we had they said I have to pay 60 dollars if road test in queens and 90 dollars if outside queens. Road test quick date will cost me 30 dollars. Pre licensing course cost me 50 dollars. So the total comes to 170. One hour of lesson will cost me 30 dollars so even if I take 2 hour lesson it should not cost me more than 230 but they asking me to pay 270.

I LOVE the instructor Azad! I just passed my road test this morning because of him. First time may I add. :) I took a lesson last year but due to unexpected circumstances I did not complete my quest to getting a license. This year though nothing was stopping me and I only took 5 driving lessons with him and of course practiced with a licensed driver when I wasn’t taking lessons but he was so patient and informative. He showed me an easy way to parallel park and it really helped. I highly recommend this driving school.

So after years of putting off getting a license, I decided to try to get it. I needed a good driving school and after extensive searches, I managed to find the Himalayan Driving school. They had everything I was looking for and they had a good review so I decided to try it. I purchased their 4 45 minute lessons, 5 hour pre-​licensing course. They scheduled my road test for me and provided me with the car for the road test. Well, guess what? I just got my license today! On my first try too! So i am very pleased with this driving school and would definitely recommend it anyone who wants to learn literally from a good set of instructors who know what they are talking about and doing. Azad is one of the best and this driving school itself is great.

I really wanted to like this driving school, but I have to say… it is really pretty terrible. I actually already have my license, but needed a refresher. On the day of my first scheduled lesson, I was waiting for fifteen minutes before I finally called the school. They told me that they had to reschedule the lesson because of a driving test. When I asked why no one had called to tell me, they apologized. This was not a good start. I continued to have problems scheduling lessons, and was never confirmed for the lesson until the night before. When I finally did meet the instructor for my first lesson, he was totally unfriendly and didn’t even try to introduce himself. Also, he couldn’t be bothered to come directly in front of my house, but instead made me walk half way up the block. All we did was drive around on the local roads of my neighborhood.
For my second lesson, which I scheduled by text with the first instructor, a different instructor showed up with no explanation or apology. This new instructor was more friendly but also did not bother to offer his name. He did say at one point that his regular job is a taxi driver. On the plus side, he was considerate enough to teach me things that would actually be valuable in my day to day driving, like driving on Queens Blvd., changing lanes and parking. Unfortunately, I could barely understand him, and he was clearly not experienced at teaching. For example, his method of teaching me how to parallel park was to basically say, «okay turn a little, a little more, now a little the other way». No clear formula at all.
My last lesson with this school was (at my request) with the first instructor. I figured at least I could understand the guy. This time, I clearly asked at the beginning of the lesson that we practice changing lanes and parking. Despite this request, all we did was drive around the local roads AGAIN. No changing lanes, no major roads, and no changing lanes.
Not surprisingly, I did not request any more lessons. Instead, I tried Ferrari Driving School. I just had one lesson and it was SO MUCH BETTER. We went on highways, changed lanes, merged, went on Queens Blvd., fine tuned turning, parallel parked, and did the 3 point turn.
If you’re looking to actually learn how to drive on real roads and would like to have an instructor that you can actually understand and who shows up on time, do yourself a favor and contact Ferrari (specifically Sam Fogel… he is AWESOME).

The service is great. I took 5 hour driving class and it was nice atmosphere. You all know the truth it is sleepy but it is okay.
A week before my road test I took a 45 minute class with azad– driver in Himalayan school. He is a great teacher. Got my license what more can I say.

I had a great experience with this school and my instructor Azab. He was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. I wanted my road test to be as soon as possible, and he made it happen in two weeks. He is a man of his word. I had my last lesson right before the road test, and I found that to be very helpful. I really want to thank Azab for his trust and patients. I highly recommend this school. I passed on my first try because of his instructions. Thanks again.

Great place to learn driving. The staff is friendly and if you have any issues they will assist you patiently until your problem is solved.
Try to take your lessons with Azad. He will keep a close eye on your driving and is very good at catching mistakes. He will work with you to fix these mistakes until you drive perfectly. I only needed 7 lessons with him, having never driven before and I was able to pass the road test on my first try. Very pleased.

Here is my story:
I needed to schedule a road test with DMV in NY.
Tried to do it myself by calling and going to DMV website with no luck. For some unknown reason there were no available appointments AT ALL.
I decided to do it through a driving school and was shocked with the prices they were gonna charge me. To get an appointment within 10 days plus a car for the test with one lesson before the test was about $ 375. Like really???
Thank god I found Himalayan Driving School! For $ 140 (they even accepted my Discover card) they booked me a test, provided a new car for the test and an hour of practice with Azad who was really nice and pointed out all the things I needed to know to pass.
I passed my test same day and was super happy. Azad was even nice enough to take me home from the test.
Super nice people! I highly recomend!

It was my third time taking my driving test.
I found this place by a friend. And they know what they do! The instructor was friendly, very straight forward and very patient! They made me my DMV appointment and took me there. Without any inconvenience. I lost my five hour certificate and they were so kind to make me another one right before my test.

Took a driving class and the instructor was very rude. When I did something incorrectly spoke to me with a very rude tone of voice. He also started speaking on the phone for about 10 min. I wouldn’t take a class from them again. I took another class with another driving school and the instructor was much more patient and courteous. The instructor for this class did not seem very interested and did not have any patience. He acted as if I was already supposed to know how to drive perfectly. Do not waste your money with this school there are much more better instructor and with more years of experience teaching students.

I was in desperate need of an expedited road test and Himalayan came through not once but twice!!! They were so receptive to my ever changing needs. I recommend them highly!!!

Very responsible, keep in touch with you prior to road test appointment. I took one class before my driving test and passed on my first attempt. They lesson was a mock of the actual test. Great prices and great people. I’d recommend them to anyone who’d like a smooth ride to and from the testing site as well.

I needed a refresher course and wanted an expedited date for my driving test. Himalayan School got me started within a week, they gave me 2 refresher classes within a week at my time convenience and even got me a test scheduled within a week. Best part, i passed at my first attempt thanks to them!

I found about this company on Groupon. Great price! And for that price, I got the the five hour class as well as a 45 minute driving lesson with the instructor in the car with me as I drove (I think the driving lesson was closer in length to an hour though, but the instructor was kind and patient enough and didnt charge for the extra time, which I greatly appreciated). I was also impressed that Himalayan provided a car for the driving lesson — an actual learner car with an extra brake for the instructor. And for an extra small fee, I was also provided a car for my driving test (which I passed, by the way). All in all, great value for the price!
