Karishma Clothing

I went to karishma based on a recommendation from my sister who had gone there before. The prices were alright, however if you are going to spend a lot of money on something, you would hope its EXACTLY what you want. I got my wedding ceremony outfit through karishma, and felt like I was blindly throwing a dart — I had wished I was able to see a sample of the fabric color, the person I worked with would not show me any progress images. so if I didnt like the color, it was too late. The women that worked there kept saying they knew what I wanted as if it was a way of getting me to stop saying what I was looking for. I felt like I settled for the final product, it wasn’t the exact color I wanted, I had agreed to buy it bc I was tired, and annoyed of all the time and energy I was spending trying to explain what I wanted.
I decided to get my reception dress through another vendor, which was great, because unlike karishma, they would send me mock ups of fabric to make sure I liked what i got. I do have to give credit to bobby, he made a beautiful blouse, pretty designs, but again, the color was too yellow, and not a soft gold that I wanted.
Lastly, everytime I had an appointment with Bobby, he would be at the minimum, a half hour late — it was pretty tiresome and frustrating through the entire process, the end result was pretty, but not exactly what I wanted.

I actually loved this place. I went all over the neighborhood to try to find a lehenga for my a wedding and out of all the places, this place had the most unique pieces. The sales lady actually was pretty nice to me and my mom. I saw the other reviews and they said that they were rude and all but mine was patient with us. I loved the dress i bought and it was much more cheaper than what I originally set for my budget. My dress looked fairly traditional but still modern! I cannot wait to put it wear it to the wedding. They offer tailoring services too but the lady was nice enough to say that I didn’t need it, and I actually consider that great because I know some places I went to insisted tailoring despite a great fit on me. My dress is off the rack and it was on sale so do not hesitate to go there as well. Over all of the places I visited, this was the place I originally went to first and made my purchase in.

Terrible place deserves 0 stars, do not bring ur money or business to a place that treats u like shit and talks about you (probably bad things) in there language. These ladies are so immature and the worst employees ever they were rude while helping and when my sister asked for different options they began screaming in their language and laughing at us. This place is terrible.

What a horrific shopping experience. The store had some nice clothing but the salespeople are pretty deceiving. I came here with my bridal party. I wanted a certain color scheme for some of the girls and another scheme for the others. We were on a pretty strict budget though. So they offered to have us choose a design but customize it with the colors we wanted for a set price, which was our budget. We said, sure okay. They showed us one. We said, yes we liked it. We wanted to order 4, 2 that would be blue and two that would be cream/​gold. They said that with an additional $ 50, the clothes would be completely tailored to them and if they come in at any time before the wedding to have it altered, they would do it for free, as part of the package. The girls agreed and they were ready to put their cards down to pay and to get measured. The lady «spoke» to the designer and said the difference in color would cost more, which made no sense. It’s the exact same material, same design, same everything, the only difference would be the color. She wanted an extra $ 50 for each outfit for it to happen. But then she said, if we get them all the same color, the $ 50 per person wouldn’t apply. I was already compromising a lot at this point so I said fine but she needs to give us a discount. She said no. I said, well then you need to put this whole thing in writing because you keep changing your price. They said no. I said, I’ll do a video recording then. They said no. They said to trust them. I responded back with, how can I when they kept changing their prices? Then they got upset with that response and basically told us to leave. Why should I trust them? I don’t even know them.
In between, they tried every trick in the book to manipulate us. They were begging me to raise my price budget. I said no. I’m not paying for them. The girls are paying for themselves. If this is what they can afford, I have to respect that. They kept saying they were working people and they wouldn’t be able to afford it. I said, well so were we. We’re far from rich.
Listen, I will pay you and work with you. But if you’re a two-​faced liar, it will be very easy to lose my trust in you as a salesperson. Get your act together and be honest up front. It’ll get you better results. My entire party was so offended by how they treated us. We will never go there. I definitely don’t recommend.

I already had outfits for the other wedding events but still needed an outfit for the mehndi when I walked into this store a few weeks ago. They had a bunch of suits and churidars hanging up that I looked through but didn’t see anything I liked. Then one of the saleswomen showed me stuff behind the counter, that’s always where the nicer pieces tend to be in these places. Many of the items were gorgeous but were a little too dressy than what I was looking for since the mehndi was going to be more casual than the reception.
Finally I found a beautiful silk churidar that I felt comfortable with. It needed to be completely remade to fit me so the saleswoman called a tailor who came two minutes later. He took my measurements and said it would be available 10 days later. When I tried it on it fit perfectly so it was a success.
I found that most of their clothing would be more appropriate for attending a wedding reception since they were so fancy.
When I was there a bride was there who seemed very happy with the clothing she had gotten and was returning for an outfit for one of her relatives so I guess this could be a good place to get bridal clothing.

I bought 2 overpriced saris here several years ago. one was pre-​made and cost about $ 450…the other had the blouse done but not pre-​made hooks, about $ 300. yes, they are Beautiful and have lasted years.
The saleswomen were not the most helpful but yet i loved the items& purchased them.
Recently I went shopping for a sari in JH and went into this store. I had to ask for help even though there were 3 saleswomen standing around talking to each other& no other customers in the store.
The woman who helped me was pushy& not very helpful. It seemed like she was doing me a favor by showing me the saris.
I left and said i would think about one that i liked and i would be back. Immediately the price was being lowered& she said it would not be the same low price if i came back, etc.
Then began to curse me out in her language as i was walking out. Very unprofessional, but they don’t seem to make customer care a priority. Too bad.

I actually had a pretty good experience here. The women working were extremely helpful and honest with me about how things looked and their price ranges. They were patient and willing to show me as many outfits I wanted to see and gave me a significant discount in the end. I did have to pressure for the discount and I’m sure the outfits were overpriced to begin with which is the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars but my outfits are very pretty!

Let me start out by saying, I usually don’t do reviews but I felt I had to warn other customers against what I went through.
I made a special trip to NY to find sarees for my wedding. I placed my order in February with Karishma and paid them CASH. They assured me that I would get my order in May 1^st. May 1^st comes around and I don’t see the sarees… so I give them a call to find out what’s going on. They basically tell me that they haven’t gotten it in and they will check on the status and get back to me the next day. I don’t hear from them the next day. I call the following day and they basically tell me that it’s going to be ANOTHER two weeks before I get in my order. Mind you, they had THREE months to do this order and I gave them a lot of business — the total cost of over $ 1,000. Two weeks pass by… and still no sarees!!! This is when I get livid. I asked to talk to the manager and she blatantly lies and tell me there is no one in charge and that everyone is in charge (seriously!!!). The customer service was HORRIBLE!!! Soon as they got my money, they completely disregarded what I had to say. After finally getting my order end of May, I noticed that the sarees had disgusting stains on them and the saree had lots of snags in them. My advice — don’t get it from Karishma. Do some reserach before you go here — you’ll find out quickly that people are saying the same things.

Went there with a friend to help her buy a salwar kameez. Yes they have a lot of nice stuff. But omg do they asked me where I was from and I lied and said Im from Guyana, the second they heard that they started talking trash about us, little did they know I understood everything they were saying. We ended up shopping from them and spending money till the last minute we were in the store the trash talking didn’t stop for 1 second. –_​_​_​– they disgust me wish I could give the place negative amount of stars for their shitty service. I hope the owner actually sees this post, yes bitch I heard everything u had to say.
