In 2012 we changed our name to Bear & Doe Banya Spa. After a year long remodel, expansion & completely new services we are ready to bring a real spa to Jackson. We are an Old World Russian spa doing simple yet amazing treatments. The word «spa» means to heal with water, and that is what we do. Venik (oak branch Bundle) massages, honey blankets, honey salt scrubs are all done in a new, large 210 deg wet sauna heated by propane (burns clean and hot). Finish your experience with a dip in our outdoor cold plunge. Even in the cold Jackson Hole winters this feels great! Our steam room: Try our Alaskan Glacier mud (the favorite), honey and honey scrubs. Want time alone with your friend or spouse? We have the steamy treatment for you. Our infrared sauna is included with every massage. We have three massage rooms including a couples room. The owner Gary is constantly voted in the top three Jackson Best of massage category. So come & see what the locals don’t want you to.

History

Established in 2003.

Gary and Lisa arrived in Jackson in the fall of 2002. A year later, Bear and Doe Massage was opened in a one room office. Gary and Lisa worked the business part-​time while holding down full-​time jobs elsewhere. In less than one year, the business was moved to a location more central to town square. This space has three massage rooms with one room large enough to provide couple’s massages. A backyard area also allowed the addition of an Indian style sweat lodge and cold plunge.

In 2011, Lisa and Gary visited to Russian Banyas in Denver and fell in love with the experience. Working with a local architect & contractor, they have replaced the sweat lodge with a large propane fired sauna, cold plunge, steam room, showers, and lockers.

This has allowed for the expansion of offerings to include venik massages, honey blankets, scrubs and Alaskan Glacier mud treatments. With a great staff of therapists & an old world style Russian sauna, you will have a one-​of-​a-​kind experience!
