History
Established in 2012.
With by background in Child Development & Early Childhood Education as a firm foundation, I decided to take the summer to train to be a Labor Doula & Childbirth Educator through the C.A.P.P.A. program under one of their superb trainers who happened to also be a Labor & Delivery Nurse as well as a Nurse Educator for a Hospital nearby.
I’m trained in full labor support and comfort techniques-emotional, spiritual, psychological, and physical: using the birthing ball, rebozo, massage, aroma therapy, guided meditation, special labor positions & exercises, music, and partner techniques.
I teach prepared childbirth education. Meaning, I teach the entire spectrum of the birthing process including all possible choices during labor and outcomes-Natural & Medicated, Vaginal Delivery & C-Section, Positive/Negative Outcomes. Also Infant care, child safety, & breastfeeding.
I have been in the field for over a year now and have attended many different kinds of births. Let me support you!
Meet the Business Owner
Ginny M.
Business Owner
I’m a mom of 3, ages 6, 9, & 19. I live in Jackson, TN. B.A. Psychology — emphasis: Child Psych & Development; Minors: Early Childhood Ed/Marriage & Family Counseling.
For over 8 yrs I worked as a Preschool Teacher as a Curriculum & Developmental Behavior Specialist/Parent Educator/Staff Trainer/Supervisor. After the economy tanked, preschools began to close, and I became a Stay At Home Mom. I tried making my hobby of making beaded jewelry into a business, but that was not very profitable or fulfilling. I needed a way to turn my previous education & experience into something I’d love & was needed.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was always happy when helping new moms learn what to do or giving advice to pregnant women at the schools I was at. I realized that I really wanted to be a birth professional & advocate for women’s birth rights! Website is DoulaGinnysBirthSvcs dot com
