It’s so wonderful when something exceeds expectations! I highly recommend picking up a Gaperguide as soon as you hit the area. Will was so patient in helping me figure out when/​how long/​installing/​etc. After half a day I was happily exhausted driving the Jackson Hole loop. I learned and saw so much more than I would have on my own or even on a bus tour. Had a wonderful lunch at Signal Mountain Lodge and decided to pick a Gaperguide up again on another (half or full) day to go to Teton Village and explore Jenny Lake more. Lastly, I’ll pick up Gaperguide as I leave Jackson and go thru Yellowstone. What a find! Such a well designed, user friendly, flawless system. And quite reasonable for the added experience value. I do hope Gaperguide expands into other areas soon. I’m not getting any younger!

After their trip to Yellowstone with two kids our neighbors recommended using GaperGuide during our two week Yellowstone and Grand Teton vacation with four adults. The GaperGuide greatly improved our experience, providing useful and interesting information about safety (slow down there are often pedestrians around the upcoming corner), knowledge (here’s how the forest changes after a fire), knowledge of local history, plants and animals, services, and points of interest from hiking, to horse riding, laundry, and dining.
Well worth the cost, our unit broke and was quickly replaced with a fully functioning unit. Doing business with them was great. We’re looking forward to using the upcoming Rocky Mountain & Glacier Park guides when they are available.

It would have been $ 200+ each for the 3 of us to tour Yellowstone and for a small fraction of that we got our own guide in the car with us. Will is great, very knowledgeable and very helpful in terms of advice on your trip. Great dude!

We absolutely loved having the Gaperguide on our trip to Yellowstone! We saw areas and took side trips that we never would have even given a second glance at. Highly recommend for anybody driving through Yellowstone.

We had taken a tour the day before and another friend used the GaperGuides. Wow! What a difference… we felt we had wasted our money on the tour when they told us about the GaperGuide. So, we used them the next day on our tour through Yellowstone and they were FANTASTIC!!! Gave us full descriptions. plus SO much more! LOVED the FUN FACTS and the fact that you could replay if you needed to hear it again. It was easy to use. Staff was EXTREMELY helpful to get us started. I can’t say enough positive about it! Just wish other areas had something like this. Thank you.

Our trip to Yellowstone was perfect, much in thanks to Gaperguide. It made our trip stress free by providing suggestions on where to stop, what to look for, and interesting facts. Not only did we get to see the sights, we learned a lot too! I would highly suggest this for anyone not familiar with the area. Will was helpful and friendly, and his dog was very cute. He was right, our trip around the lower loop was a little over 10 hours.

I agree with one of the Unilocalers that Jackson store people are super nice. They answered my inquiries over phone and lent us a two-​socket power adapter. However, the guide is a little difficult for a foreigner like me to use. During my trip in Grand Teton National Park, the guide is helpfiul. The next day in Yellowstone National Park, I found the guide stopped to make any sound. As I was really overwhelmed by what I was supposed to lay my eyes on, I didn’t succeed in fixing the guide.

This thing was amazing — a total must for any trip to Yellowstone National Park! It was so easy and quick to pickup right before entering the park. The tips are extremely helpful, and the random facts are very interesting! Honestly, we would have totally missed a lot and gotten lost if it weren’t for this device. We ended up leaving YNP in a pitch dark rainstorm, and this lil guy helped guide us safely to the exit. Totally worth the money, we highly recommend it!

A friend recommended that we use GaperGuide for our day drive through the Tetons and Yellowstone. It was absolutely the best recommendation. Will was friendly and helpful when we picked it up, explaining how it works and giving us some recommended areas to stop and enjoy Yellowstone. Throughout our car trip in the park, we learned so much more than we would have without it. I think if you’re traveling through Yellowstone or the Tetons this is a MUST — it enriches the experience exponentially.

I’m a huge fan! My girlfriend and I decided to take a quick trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We didn’t spend much time planning the trip, so we didn’t have much of an itinerary. We rented a car, picked up a GaperGuide, and hit the road. Not only did this cool little device guide us through every out of the way area we went to (including areas where we didn’t have phone reception), it gave us great advice with regard to places to stop to eat and drink as well. I now know so many little factoids about the area (like; did you know that there are no lizards in the lizard creek campgrounds, but that there are salamanders?), I feel like a local. It wasn’t too much… not too little either… great voice to listen to too… Five stars!!!

This is the best thing ever! It’s GPS knows where your at and let’s you know what neat things are nearby. So much more than what’s on a map.

Terrific item to use in the Tetons & Yellowstone park, so much info., an invaluable tool, we would have missed so much without it, super easy to use, super people at the Jackson store… I very highly recommend this item…

If I could give GaperGuide 10 stars I would. We found out about this amazing unit through Unilocal.We just completed a 12 day vacation in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park area. Prior to entering Yellowstone, we went to pick up the guide and were promptly greeted by Will. Will is the founder and owner of this ingenious invention. He gave us tips even before plugging it in for the first time. I wish all businesses were run by people like Will. How often will you find a business who sincerely puts the customers happiness ahead of the profit margin? We loved it so much that we referred several people to GaperGuide, with one of our referrals already using it today. The thing I liked most about GaperGuide is it took us to places that most tourists would never know about. I can’t tell you how many times we were given a suggestion to turn down a road, only to find an amazing site, usually by ourselves, or maybe a couple of more people at the same place. Considering Yellowstone was packed, this was amazing. As we drove along, GaperGuide knew exactly where we were at all times. It would tell us about what was coming up, stories about the site, places to picnic and even added some humor to our trip. The GPS was so accurate that as we approached an area, GaperGuide would suggest that we might want to see it. If we chose to visit it, GaperGuide would tell us it was a good choice and then begin giving us details of what we were about to see. If we chose not to turn, GaperGuide would tell us not to worry, as there were other great sites coming up. My wife and I continually and literally thanked GaperGuide as we drove along finding these amazing hidden sites. I cannot imagine not having had this amazing tool with us. I wish Will would create some more GaperGuides for other National Parks. The amount we payed for this was minimal, when you compare it to what we would have paid if we went on tour busses etc. Being a photographer, I was able to capture the perfect photographs without being rushed to get back on the bus. To me, this was worth the price of the rental alone. Our time in Yellowstone was one of our very best vacations we have had. Besides the incredible scenery and beauty of Yellowstone, GaperGuide made it better than we could have ever imagined. When in Yellowstone, do yourself a favor and rent this amazing tool. You will not regret it!!!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Gaperguide made our trip 100 times better! We learned so many interesting facts about the geology, history, logistics of the parks, and all the plants and animals in the Grand Teton national park and Yellowstone. The guide is really well done, works perfectly with the GPS system and sound system of your car, and is very easy to use. Our group highly recommends!

We are SO glad we discovered GaperGuide! It made a wonderful trip even better. When you’re in Yellowstone, it’s difficult to know what the best things to see are, besides the big staples. There are signs to picnic areas and trails, but little other information, unless you want to buy a book and keep reading while driving around. The Guide offers a wonderful alternative and is 100% worth it. It’s a GPS-​like device that sits on your dashboard and plugs into the cigarette lighter. You can pick one up on the way into the park and it tells you all sorts of facts and history, sensing exactly where you are. You’ll learn about science and history, and will get awesome tips on what to do and see. Will is really nice, and gives useful information, including where bathrooms are located, which side of the road things are on, how difficult trails are, where to grab decent food, what information boards to read, and what not to miss. The information even varies if you’re driving the same road a different direction! I also appreciated the respectful and responsible message imparted with regard to interacting with wildlife and the park. We had a few small problems where we needed to reset the device or unplug it and plug it back in, but it was very minor.
I can’t recommend this enough, even for people who are pretty familiar with the park! I’m hoping that Will will consider expanding it or adding to it, so that repeat customers might have a fresh experience in addition to the original info. We’d definitely use it again.

My friend and I rented a Gaper Guide after our tour company (see my Unilocal review/​warning for Grant Teton Adventure Company) cancelled on us at the 11^th hour. This awesome device saved the day and ensured that it was a great one! We had a terrific time and had complete autonomy over our own time. Will is a super nice guy, and he and his colleagues provided tons of interesting, pertinent facts as you go along. The GPS worked great — in fact, it starts you from town center (and tells you even whee to get great coffee, at Cowboy Coffee) and then directs you all the way up through the Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. Frankly, had I known about this awesome device, I would have just done this and not signed up for the Grand Teton National Park tour. If you’re looking for autonomy in the parks, then definitely go with this service! It’s honestly all you’ll need.

GaperGuide is like having a personal tour guide through the Tetons and Yellowstone park. The guide pointed out places of interest along the drive and we learned about the history and geography of the parks along with the animals native to the area. Hikes and their degree of difficulty were suggested, and it warned of drives that required smaller vehicles. When we came to a fork in the road, the guide let us know our options. In addition, it pointed out visitor centers, museums, lodges, gas, restaurants, and bathrooms. Really impressed with the details and care put into this program. Wish GaperGuides were in all the National Parks!

Do yourself a favor and get this when you go to jackson hole or yellowstone!!! It js SO worth it!!! We just drove around and have little bits of info thrown at is every 5 minutes or so. SOOOOOO much better than throwing down massive amounts of $$$ for a tour. When we go back we will be purchasing again!

This device was invaluable on our trip through the parks! It was like having our own personal tour guide, but we could go where we wanted when we wanted. The park was very busy in July and the attractions get packed with people during the tour times, this allowed us to miss the crowds and get a lot of information on the local history and the geology of the park. This is well worth the money!
