Dog Days & Cat Naps is a professional pet care service serving NE Florida for over 15 years. We have reliable and caring pet sitters in your area throughout Duval, Clay and St. Johns counties. We provide pet sitting & dog walking at your home, as well as other pet care services including: local pet transportation (pet taxi), private boarding, overnight pet sitting, house sitting, and more!

Established in 2000.

Our company was founded in 2000 on the philosophy that pets deserve to be treated with the highest level of respect and loving care. We provide many services to care for pets depending on their needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Becky E.

Business Owner

Becky has been around pets her whole life. Being raised on «Mulberry Farm» in northern Virginia, she helped raise five dogs, horses, chickens, cats and a guinea pig. She is very accustomed to the needs of animals. She and her husband, Mike, have a rescued dog named Jasper (a Catahoula Leopard dog) and a yellow lab named Bo. They also have three children.

Becky has her Masters degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s College in Maryland, and decided to combine her business training with her love for animals by founding her own pet care business.

After just moving to Jacksonville, I had no friends or coworkers to pet sit my two cats for our upcoming 10 day Italy trip. We panicked as we did NOT want to board our cats mostly because boarding=cage for cats; unlike dogs who typically get a small room. After searching I finally found Dog Days Cat Naps and I am so thankful that we used them! The rates are a great price, too!
My sitter was Jessica and she came by about 1 month before our trip. I left detailed notes online and when she came by our apartment, she had already read the notes and knew what I was going to say. She said she typically texts on the days she visits, and because we were out of the country, I asked if she could email instead. We had her visit every other day (total 5 times) and each time she emailed at the end of her visit and included 3 pictures of the cats and a short message of how the cats were doing.
Our older cat also eats too fast and vomits and I asked if she could at least pick it up and wipe it down with a Clorox wipe as I didn’t want to come home to multiple piles of cat vomit. She did and also changed the litter.
The online portal is very easy and the office invoices every Monday. You can either pay all at the end of the visits or have each visit auto paid.
I would definitely recommend and will be using Jessica again on another trip we have planned!

Came home earlier then expected to find pee on the floor with a paper towel on top of it. Not wiped up or cleaned. Ruined hard wood floors. Awful service.

Pets are like children and you have to find someone you trust to watch them. That being said we had just moved to Jacksonville and five days later we were leaving town for 11 days. Of course I turned to Unilocal and found dog days and cat naps.
I had issues with the online booking system (I was using my phone while driving from Arizona to Texas) and Sara was great with emailing me instead of using the site. She set me up with Kerri, who arrived a few days later so I could show her the ropes.
Kerri was wonderful, instantly I felt that my animals and my home would be safe in her hands. We were out of the country so I told her only a few texts and she did just that. I had an update of my animals well being and peace of mind. I came back to two happy pets and very detailed notes of her visit. It’s the little things to me that matter, like it was storming one day so she made sure the animals were okay and not scared, she brought in some mail from the mail box and washed the feeding bowls. She’s an all star.
I loved this service so much that I am using them again very soon, with Kerri as my sitter. I highly recommend her and this service.

We just had our first experience with Dog Days. Our pet sitter, Renee, is great. She spent a lot of time at our initial consultation making sure she understood our dogs and their needs, which made leaving them so much easier and the trip we took last weekend much more enjoyable. When we got back yesterday, the house looked really nice– which with two rowdy dogs is often not the result after a weekend home «alone.» The dogs were happy to see us of course, but they weren’t frantic like they have been in the past with other dog walkers/​sitters. Overall an A+++ experience.

Dog sitting FAIL. I was so excited to read the good reviews of this business in the search for pet sitters, but the service I received was less that Professional nor Reliable. I did not receive the reports for half of my 10 day vacation and only received 2 status notifications during my vacation — I had asked for every couple of days; the reports that they gave me suddenly ended after the 5th day (just as the holiday week started) and the day after I got home, I saw my wood floor was a mess of warped boards and poop smears from a dog who had diarrhea (Cleaning is not in their job description). It would have been nice to have been notified that the dog was having problems, Instead the reports only stated the weather and that they had a good walk. Then I had to constantly follow up for a week to get my keys back and then when they were returned — they were placed under my door mat and no one bothered to tell me. If you love your pets, go somewhere else. Becky defends her employees more than her interest in providing good service. Maybe, my experience was a 1 time event, but judging from the photos of my poop on my floor, I doubt it. Keeping your client notified of problems with their pets is good customer service, THAT is why we hire you, to CARE and walk our pets.

I can’t even get over how amazing this company is! I moved here from Philadelphia, and I was really stressed about not having any friends/​family in town to watch my fur baby. I asked my vet for recommendations, and she could only suggest boarding (NOT going to work for my diva cat). After google/​yelp searching, I came across this company — and let me tell you, BEST thing I found for my cat. Lauren was so thorough in explaining the process to me & answering all of my questions. Kelly & Alejandra were the two sitters that took care of my cat while I was out of town. I met with Kelly prior to my vacation, and she showed up to my apartment on time, in uniform, and took thorough notes about everything necessary to make my kitty (and me) happy. Each day I had check-​ins via text with photos, and when I got home after a few days, my cat was completely taken care of! I also came home to a log that the sitters filled out — complete with the dates, times, tasks completed, and a note about my pet’s behavior each time they checked in. Payment is easy — you just pay your invoice online after the sitting is complete. I am using this company for every trip I take — and telling my vet she needs to start recommending them to people ASAP. Thanks, guys!

I’ve been using this service for almost 2 years and they have been great for my little Romeo. They take him out everyday during the week for his walks and I feel very safe letting them in my home. Very professional and my dogs love them. Making payment is easy and convenient as well.
