The Gateway is quite a nice surprise for a weary traveler. The only thing missing are dining options for those that do not have a car and the ability to get a decent cellular signal through those thick walls. WiFi would have taken care of that, but unfortunately it is not to be(as of December 2015). The Gateway provides a comfortable stay with spacious rooms. Traveling for work, I have stayed at the international chains that have the look, with the rock hard beds; that are fully staffed with the bored attendants. Not here! Gateway has the modern feel to it, both in appearance and the comfortable beds/chairs/rooms. Plenty of outlets in each room. Lights in the ceiling. Lamps next to the bed and on the desk. Lights over the full size refrigerator in the kitchenette. While the food options are limited, there is an option. Mulligan’s is a short walk down the road. Please be careful, some car privileged individual decided not to put in sidewalks along the main road, so while walking there is easy, you will be along the side of the road. For a short term stay, the Gateway is a good choice. Enjoy.

Yet another poor experience with NGIS Jacksonville. Computers«down» for the third straight visit. If it wasn’t a captive audience this place would disappear. So much for«serving those who serve». Pitiful excuse for customer service. Avoid this place. No real hotel would tolerate this ineptitude.

I enjoyed my stay at the Gateway Inn and Suites, though it was brief. The suite included one bedroom, a sofa sleeper and a full kitchen. All very clean! The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish the hotel included a continental breakfast. I would definitely recommend!

NGIS is a hotel on NASJAX. So if you can’t get on base, you can’t stay here. Now that that’s out of the way, this is a really nice place. There is no free breakfast, but the rooms are cozy. We were in a standard room to start — basic amenities like flatscreen tv, cable, fridge(full size!), microwave. The cable in our room didn’t work so we asked for a different room. There were no standards available but we were able to upgrade for $ 15 to a suite in the new building. Well worth it! Full kitchen, dining area, couch, TV in living room and bedroom. A very nice suite for only ~70/night. If you need a place to stay in JAX while visiting, this is a good option. Check it out!
