UYE – MBB15 After Party

After an amazing second year of the Moonbeam Bash, all of us, who volunteered and worked the event, needed a place to go and wind down. We ended up at Raindogs, which worked perfectly as it was a Monday and a slow one, at that. We all got a round of beers and just sat chatting the rest of the night away.
I like Raindogs because it’s a bar for everyone. You will see people from all walks of life come walking through the doors. I think we brought some spice to the bar on this night, as this year’s Moonbeam Bash was based around cosplay, so we had folks in and out of costume. No one seemed to bat an eye, though, and it’s something that I’m starting to really love about our big, little city.
I was in a stout mood, for beer, that night, which Raindogs doesn’t carry much. However, I was in luck and the bartender suggested an awesome one from Great Divide Brewing Company out of Denver called Yeti. For those guys who need a hand putting a little hair on their chest, this would be a stout to drink to help with that.
We have an awesome group of Unilocalers, and I love get togethers like this because we can focus more on getting to know each other. Since the start of the year, we’ve been having some fun after parties, and we need to continue on this trend.

After partying like a rockstar at Unilocal Jacksonville’s Moonbeam Bash for hours, what can you possibly do besides find a nearby bar and host a little UYE to wind down after the main event?
Allie and her devious team of Unilocal henchmen arranged a little post-​event get-​together at Rain Dogs in the Five Points /​Riverside section of Jacksonville. Rain Dogs is a perfect neighborhood watering hole with mis-​matched bar stools, a huge beer selection in bottles and drafts, and a menu of fried bar bites to keep you going. They’re open till 2am, and that was great for our group.
A group of about 20 of us showed up (still in costume), and kept the servers hopping as we ordered our drinks and sat around laughing about the antics at the Unilocal event. I enjoyed having the chance to really visit with Allie and Adam, and finally got the chance to talk with Amy and John.
This was a great way to wrap up an outstanding couple of days in Jacksonville! I’ll be back there real soon — later tonight, in fact. ;)

I always have a good time when I come to Rain Dogs and this time was no exception. Great drinks and conversation with great friends! After putting in so much work for Moonbeam Bash, it was so nice to be able to come here, sit for a spell (alright, it was much longer than a spell), relax, and have a ton of laughs.
I personally just stuck with soda because I had way too much vodka from Tito’s at MBB, but hubby enjoy a couple of nice beers from Intuition.
It was so great to finally get the chance to meet Steve E. from Unilocal Tampa at MBB, and I’m so glad he decided to join us here after the after party. He’s such an amazing Unilocaler and tons of fun to be around!
Mark wasn’t even kidding when he said we may have just sat there all night talking because we totally closed the place down. Even after they had turned off the music and started cleaning up, we were all still talking away at one of the tables outside.
A big thanks to Rain Dogs for participating as one of the vendors at MBB and for putting up with all of us rowdy Unilocalers after the big shindig!

What can you say? After after a hard day of getting everything ready for the biggest Unilocaler Party of the year. You just need to wind down take it easy and enjoy some really close and good friends. Some made it and some just had to go for work the next day. Royal bummer right. You all know who you are and were there in spirit. Allie you pulled off another one and we love to help you do so. The night was great the everything work marvelously. This place was like an old bar I used to hang out at the beach. Pete’s Bar was a very intricate part of my upbringing. There is al lot of stuff from all sorts of strange minded folks hanging on the walls. From animal mounts to some off the wall paintings. The beers are plentiful and flowed like water with my friends. We sat and drank all kinds of different things and talked the night away. They had to kick us out and if they didn’t we might have hung out to sunrise who knows. In all a local hangout the I have heard a lot about.

The entire evening was a blast and I couldn’t have pictured a better end to the nights festivities.
It was nice to relax and enjoy a couple of beers while unwinding and sharing some laughs!
