Cheryl Walks Dogs

My 20 lb Cockapoo Ben and I moved to JP last July and we needed to find a dog walker that would live up to the near perfect situation that we had where we lived previously. After interviewing a couple of dog walkers, doing a trial walk with her, and reading her Unilocal reviews, I decided on Cheryl and she has been a real gem of a find.
She takes a small groups of dogs to the woods for an off leash walk which was the biggest draw for me since Ben loves the woods. With the potential risks associated with this format, she is very conscientious about keeping the group small, compatible and manageable. When I get home at the end of the day, I can review Cheryl’s journal which gives a short commentary about the walk. She will sometimes text or call if there’s something more pressing that needs my immediate attention. Her observations give me the sense that Cheryl is really paying close attention to the dogs.
Because it’s a solo operation, there are certain limitations to what Cheryl is able to do outside of the standard but she will do everything she can to accommodate any extra requests such as an additional walk for Ben or taking an additional dog when I dog sit for my friend.
When Cheryl comes to pick Ben up for their walk, he gets very excited, jumps on her and gives her big wet kisses. If that isn’t a 5 star rating, I don’t know what is.

Cheryl is an amazing dog walker! She communicates really well with us, leaves great detail about how/​what your dog did on the walk, and she genuniely cares for all of her dogs. We have been working with Cheryl for a few months now, and our two-​year-​old cockapoo LOVES her time with Cheryl and her «pack» in the woods. We love it because our pup gets great exercise since it is off leash walking, which means the dogs are actually running for 30 – 60 mins, much better exercise than you get with any regular on-​leash walk. Our dog returns home happy and exhausted, which is exactly what we want since we work all day. Cheryl is easy to get a hold of and responsive in case you have anything you need to communicate to her that day/​morning. We are so happy we found Cheryl and that she had availability for our pup! We would unconditionally recommend Cheryl if you are looking for a dog walker in JP!

After trying several dog walking services in the area, I finally found a dog walker that gets it. Cheryl is a professional. She is trustworthy, dependable, communicative and genuinely loves what she does. I have zero reservations or worries when she comes to get my lab everyday. She does off leash walks in Franklin Park and my dog is happier and less anxious because of the great exercise and love she gets with Cheryl. She does not over pack her groups and considers the dynamics of the dogs.
Cheryl clearly knows what she is doing and takes her services seriously. I highly recommend her.

Cheryl is the best! She is so nice and is genuinely sincere in her love for dogs. Everytime our dog comes home she looks like she just went to Disneyworld. Cheryl has great communication with owners and is very easy to talk to. It is a huge relief for me knowing my dog is in wonderful hands when I am away. We all have complete trust in Cheryl and would recommend her to anyone.

Cheryl is awesome! She was the only area pet sitter that replied to my cat sitting inquiries and I’m so glad she did. I went on vacation for a week and when I came home, my two cats were happy, fed, watered, the litter box was clean, and the trash was even taken out. I ran out of cat litter and Cheryl went out and purchased some! She is very personable and professional, I highly recommend Cheryl for any pet sitting needs. I will definitely call her again whenever I need my cats looked after!

Cheryl has walked our dog for 2+ years. Our dog goes nuts when Cherly comes over; she is so excited to see her. I can’t imagine leaving our pup with anyone else.

Like the other reviews have mentioned, Cheryl is reliable, caring and an overall awesome person. She has been working with our frenchie, Fletcher for the past 2 months & we couldn’t be happier.
As a new puppy parent, Cheryl put all of our worries to rest regarding our pup’s new adventure & was especially cognizant of the limitations/​concerns particular to the frenchie breed (she carries water with her). One of the best things about Cheryl is her methodology of socializing & walking dogs– she takes the pack on hikes in a lush wooded area of JP & teaches the dogs to play off leash (no dirty dog park runs). Cheryl goes above & beyond by providing a journal to let us know how Fletcher’ hikes go each day.
I really cannot say enough about how great Cheryl is at what she does– if you’re looking for a caring, passionate & reliable person to work with your pet, look no further than Cheryl!

Oh how we love Cheryl, let us count the ways:
1) Our Boston Terrier, Beacon, gets more excited to see her than when he see us.
2) Cheryl writes detailed reports of Beacon’s outings, which always make us smile.
3) She is incredibly responsible and caring. One time, Beacon rolled in something and instead of letting him spread grossness all over our condo, she sent us a text to ask if she could bathe him. Amazing!
4) Bonus points: I once locked myself out of the condo (by once I mean, again) and Cheryl was kind enough to come by with her key.

Cheryl has walked our spunky, friendly French Bulldog Leela for 2 years, and we could not be happier. (Neither could Leela!) She’s worked with Leela to be off-​leash, and as a result, Leela is a good listener and does very well interacting with other dogs. She loves to run and play, and Cheryl certainly gives her a workout! Cheryl is as regular as rain, leaves us a note daily in Leela’s notebook to let us know how our little bear did that day, and truly loves what she does. Cheryl is also very safe with our pup, as she does not do well in hot weather — she keeps a close eye on Leela to ensure that she is having fun in the safest way possible. Very responsible and thorough in her care. We would give 6 stars here, if we could — that’s how liked Cheryl is by our little family. Highly, highly recommended!

Cheryl has been walking our dog, Otis, since the week we got him. He was a 2 year old rescue, who was not leash-​trained or able to go off-​leash. Cheryl worked with him on leash walks for the first few months and eventually was able to take him off-​leash in the woods. She is great with Otis, and Otis clearly loves her — he gets excited and starts jumping around when he hears her pull up outside.
Cheryl is safe, responsible and clearly loves the dogs she walks. Most days she takes Otis to a wooded area where he can run and play with the other dogs — he’s tired when we get home from work (and the rest of the night) and is good around other dogs as a result of being able to interact with lots of dogs every day.
Can’t say enough good things about Cheryl — she is flexible in the event that something comes up, rates are reasonable and she is very reliable.

Cheryl has been walking our dog Cabot since he was a year old. Cabot adores her and she takes him to the woods Monday-​Friday so he can run and run and run with the pack! She always leaves detailed notes of his adventures and lets us know if anything was off or unusual. She is truly willing to go above and beyond for the dogs and has been so tolerant as Cabot figures out how to be a good adult dog! We recommend Cheryl without reservation for anyone in need of a dog walker who will love your dog like he/​she is her own.

Cheryl took care of our two cats. They loved her! She took photos of them. They were happy in them. One of my cats who is not friendly came to her even to be pet. He never does that with us!

We’ve been working with Cheryl for a couple years now and she is absolutely the best dog walker in Jamaica Plain. She’s very flexible and communicates any issues immediately. Both of our springers go crazy when she arrives to take them on their walks.

We needed to find a dog walker very last minute and Cheryl came through for us. Her voicemail says she will call you back within two hours and she did (even over Thanksgiving weekend).
Our 4 month old puppy loves her. She is very accommodating with our schedule coming twice a day three times a week. She leaves progress reports of each walk including any concerns she might have.

Cheryl is a compassionate kind loving women, who’s love for animals is tremendous. She herself has been a dog owner her entire life. Cheryl would take care of your pet, as if it were her own. She is a trustworthy person. Cheryl and I have walked dogs many times together in the arboretum in J.P. Animals gravitate to her and feel comfortable with her right away. She goes above and beyond and has impeccable business sense. I would highly recommend her to take care of your pet or your house.
