Transportation via taxi is always a sketchy proposition in this city, but this was really bad. I called at 3pm on a Friday for a 4 pm pickup in Roslindale going o the Seaport. The driver was over 45 minutes late, making me late for a work dinner. The dispatcher was entirely unhelpful, just telling me to «give him some time». That’s not why you call in advance. You call in advance so that you are picked up when you need to be picked up. Every time I called (3 times altogether) she told me he was 5 minutes away. Unfortunately I was stuck as I called around to other taxis and either nobody was in Rozzie or couldn’t come for at least 30 minutes. When the driver finally arrived, the rear passenger side door was smashed in, and there was no sign on the car. I had no idea this was a gypsy cab company. I saw no meter, no permit when I got in the car so I immediately asked if they take credit cards. The driver said yes, and I said ok, so off we went. When we arrived at the Seaport I handed him my card and he looked at it and said «sorry we don’t take cards». That’s why I asked you when I got in the car! Which I told him. Good thing I had cash for the $ 27 fare. I tipped about 15%. Couldn’t blame he guy; traffic was bad and the dispatcher was the real problem. But to say you take cards and once at the destination say something else, well, that was the driver. I wouldn’t have paid him at all if I didn’t have the cash. Go ahead and arrest me, but if I hadn’t had the cash that guy would have been SOL. Do not use them. Unreliable and entirely sketchy!

What an amazing service– on time, courteous, clean cars, and a flat rate of $ 35 from JP to the airport.
