History

Established in 2009.

I taught and performed for 15 years in New York City before moving to Boston to study jazz at New England Conservatory. I currently teach at Berklee College of Music and maintain a private teaching studio in Jamaica Plain. In the past five years I have discovered I love to teach adults as well as children.

Business Owner

I was born in England, where I lived as a child and as a teenager. My parents are musicologists, so I grew up surrounded by music and interesting musicians. We also traveled a lot, and I acquired a taste for adventure.

I discovered my love of jazz while in college, and moved to New York City where I could be a musician in many styles.

A few years later, I began learning about Brazilian music, and became passionate about playing choro. I spend time in Rio every year to deepen my connection to this vibrant and expressive music.

I love cycling and scuba diving.

I have a Columbian boa constrictor called Ygdrasil. In case you were wondering, she doesn’t come out of her cage during lessons; she listens quietly from another room.
