Bagels ‘N’ Cream

This place is a trash heap. literally a heap of trash. the short blonde girl who works there totally messed up our order, then when we asked for our proper order (which by the way, was just asking to have our bagels toasted. TOASTED!) and this garbage bag of a human being tried to say that we were lying and that we didn’t ask for our bagels to be toasted! First of all, what type of person orders a bagel with butter that isn’t toasted? does she think we are sociopaths? Second, we paid 9 dollars for these rocks that are described as «bagels», so just make them toasted like we ordered! jeez louise, never coming back here! Also whoever this old guy is who everybody keeps writing about is probably also a heap of trash too! ugh, people are SO RUDE.

Fresh bagels and great staff. Love steve there! My boyfriend and I have become sort of regulars there and the entire staff is nothing but sweet and the food is delicious.

Using one of Trump’s favorite words, «HUGE» for the title of this post.
It’s no lie, these bagels look like they are on steroids!!! They are the largest bagels I’ve had by far. Not only are they HUGE but they taste super soft and moist. They are so worth the $ 1 spent per bagel of all kinds. Can’t believe it costs only a dollar, what a steal, what a deal! My husband and I love it so much thanks to my cousin Pearl for introducing this delicious bagel shop to us. I love the jumbo blueberry bagel while my husband likes the good ol’ plain bagel. He seldom switches his taste and gets the everything bagel or onion. I often get the raisin bagel if they run out of the blueberry. THEY COME IN WHOLE WHEAT TOO HEEHEE (This info is for the healthy birds.) These bagels get sold out quick so you gotta be quick too and go there super early. You know what they say, the early bird catches the worm and it’s definitely true for these scrumptious bagels if you want to have a full and satisfying breakfast. To top it off, eat the bagels with Temp Tee cream cheese, which is another one of my cousin Pearl’s recommendation. The Temp Tee cream cheese is very light tasting and not that heavy compared to the Philadelphia cream cheese. Boy is my cousin Pearl a big foodie like me! I have to thank her again for this good find and the best part is we live close by and the drive is not bad if we ever have a bagel craving for breakfast. Omg just the thought of it is making me salivate. Is it breakfast time yet? Gimme a HUGE blueberry bagel NOW please! ;p

Real NY bagels a stone’s throw from St John’s U. Traveled to SJU for daughter’s volleyball tournament and found this place a block away. Service was friendly, bagels authentic, and coffee was good. What more do you need? Had the egg everything and it was perfect. Fresh and still warm from the oven.

I honestly think this is a very good spot in terms of convenience and food. Their bagels are hot and fresh and cream cheese is delicious and whipped, that’s the best part. I will definetly be coming back here.

The first time I had a bagel from here it was great. Fresh, soft, and good flavor. But then subsequent visits proved otherwise. Every other time the bagels were very hard and chewy, almost ripping your teeth out trying to eat one. But the worst part was when eating a slice of strawberry cake bought from here and taken home, we discovered there was mold on it. I called the store to tell them about the moldy cake, but the man who answered rambled incoherently and hung up. Not surprising, this type of customer service is right in line with what we received in person as well. Last time we went there. Better to walk a few blocks to Bagel & Co for great fresh food and actual customer service!

One of my favorite bagel stores in the area. Plus when you buy a dozen bagels you get 3 free. Its a no brainer.
I craved their Everything bagels through out my whole pregnancy, must of ate hundreds. They also have a great selection of cream cheeses and its a huge establishment so you can enjoy your bagel there.

They truly make the best bagels in New York. The outer shell is crunchy and the inside is soft and moist. I been coming here for over 6 years and always crave this these bagels now that hat I live in Brooklyn. Don’t get get me wrong Brooklyn has its bagel shops but they are missing the consistency and taste.

BAGELS SERVED WITH ATTITUDE (or in my case just attitude)
My friend and I always come here after class, and every time we do, even if the line isn’t long. It takes forever to order. You have to repeat your order several times. And even after that, the workers will come back to you and ask «what was that again?» Over and over. I don’t understand why they don’t write it down. Okay so we were able to look past that because it’s the only bagel shop near campus.
But today was the final straw. After going and waiting in line, the older man came and took her order. But skipped me. Then two other workers proceeded to take the orders of the other customers standing behind me. My friend and the other customers behind us walked up to the register to pay. And I was STILL standing there. Waiting for my order to be taken. There was no line anymore behind me. They completely ignored me and one worker started to take a video of this other female worker on his phone. This process was about 15 mins of waiting. When there was nobody else there. I was standing right in front of them. Made eye contact several times. After a while I was done waiting. I wanted to leave. My friend was then paying for the bagel she ordered earlier and she saw me storm out. She thought I was overreacting so she tried to order my bagel for me. When she asked for it, older man rolled his eyes and said rudely «why couldn’t you tell me before???» That is not how you run a business. I couldn’t order it before because NOBODY bother to take my order even though I was the only person left standing there. Their bagels were mediocre. And the customer service is completely disrespectful. They lost dedicated customers today. We will not be going back to them again.

Do Not Go. Worst store, nasty service. Went in for lunch after a funeral and owner was terribly rude. Sad this is accepted in our community.

My friends and I stopped by here for the first time today and were blown away with the amount of seating available and food options.
I tried the nova scotia lox on pumpernickle and really enjoyed it. My friends had lox spread and veggie spread with salmon on other bagels– they liked it but felt that the bagels were a bit too salty.
Will definitely be back– it looks like a great study space with lots of coffee and food.

BEST NYC bagel ever! I’m from Dallas and found this place courtesy of my then boyfriend) now husband). After having a toasted plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese (BTW there are real, fresh strawberries in this cream cheese)…I never had a bagel ever again in Dallas.

I’ve been coming to Bagels and Cream for many many years. Pretty good bagels and the service used to be great. Not only has the service gone downhill in the past 6 months, but it recently came to my attention that they charge to toast your bagel. It’s only $ 0.10, but it’s the principle. I won’t be coming back.

Decided to get breakfast here last week, after driving by this place for years. The inside is really big and surprisingly clean, the workers also seemed nice.
I ordered 2 bagels. An egg and cheese with lettuce and tomatoes and a tuna bagel. I ordered with one worker and a few minutes later another worker asked me if I wanted cheese on the egg sandwich I said yes. A few moments later the second worker realized that she had me confused with someone else and the person who ordered with her did not want cheese. I saw their confusion but thought they’ll figure it out themselves. I got my order to go and left. Upon opening my order at work I realized that they put that mistake egg and cheese in my bag instead of what I really ordered. They charged me for lettuce and tomatoes but didn’t even put it, and on top of that it wasn’t on the bagel I ordered. Was kinda disappointed but the tuna sandwich was actually very good.
Bottom line. Be very clear on what you want to order.
Oh and they don’t have mini bagels or baguettes

I was today. Bought «bran muffins», price $ 2,5 (in Dankin Donuts price $ 1.99 + tax, and I think it’s artificial). Good price, delicious and satisfying. For a healthy diet it was tasty. I like it!

I used them for a large event and they were awesome! Despite ordering upwards to 100 bagels, each one was moist, warm and fresh. Coffee was flavorful and cream cheese rich and satisfying.
This greater Jamaica area does not have many decent «mom and pop» bagel stores (unless you prefer Dunkin Donuts… yuck), so support local businesses and give Bagels N Cream a shot if you’re nearby (that means you St. John’s students!!)

My family has been going to this place for years and we love getting bagels, baileys and assorted cream cheeses. However today has made change my view on them. My family wanted to surprise me with a strawberry shortcake and this place was the only one open. What a mistake. When we open the box I noticed the strawberries on top had mold and half of them looked like they scraped the mold off. Being crazy and courageous we tried a piece it was sour. Never again, even thought I absolutely love their bagels.

Couldn’t give z stars. So I waited online for 10 min to order 5 bagels. The old man walks over and asks for the order. I say do you want to right it down its 5 bagels. He replies I don’t have time to wait and immediate walk away. Very nasty. So after 3 min and the line of customers getting pissed he returns and says are you ready yet. I advise I was ready before you walked away from me. So he takes my order 1 at a time and of course there slight confusion. The whole time he is Nasty /​short /​and disrespectful. We get to the register and the total is 36.50 so I ask to know if that was correct as it seemed to be a little high for 5 bagels with topping and 4 plain bagels. So I look at the receipt and question why I. Paid 9 bucks for a lox bagel and he is charging additional for scallion. Don’t get me wrong the price is not the problem it’s the principle. So he explains and I said ok. He the makes a statement «buddy I don’t need to rob you» I respond by asking him if he thought I was trying to insult him and he again says I don’t need to cheat you I’m good. So I say to him «what you should do is work on your customer service» as I’m walking away he yells out «you need to go to school before you talk.
Now I just learned something about myself as per this person. Just a quick short story for this gentleman if he’s smart enough to read this. I opened Manhattan bagels in forest hills in 1997. I baked managed and built that business. I was 18 when I quit to go work at the largest luxury retailer in the world. Your like 50 something and you still do what I did at 17. Please the first thing you should learn is not to insult someone spending 36.50 on bagels. Cause the fact is its the second time I’m there this week and i frequently buy bagels for my employees and my office and as a business owner I understand taking a 36.50 loss is a loss in business period. Maybe you need bagel business for dummies.
Any how we get back home and started eating these average (but only bagel shop in fresh meadows) bagels and my father reminds me that the last time he was there was with me and the old man (maybe this guys father) was so rude to the person in front of us that 6 people waiting for there orders walked out completely and that I swore I would not come back to this place.
I think I will be more aware of not returning to get this assholes location again.

Being from California, I have never had bagels as good as these. Large store with an astonishing assortment of bagels, cream cheeses and goodies. The bagels are made as they should be. Nice crunch with a soft and airy middle. My favorite was the cinnamon-​raisin and the poppy seed. Large place with plenty of seating.

This place has been here forever! I remember coming here almost 20 years ago, having a fantastic bagel with tuna salad. After a long walk, followed by a push-​up laden workout, and run, I knew this is where I wanted to spend my calories. I got a garlic bagel with light veggie tuna salad, extra tomato, and a fresh squeezed OJ. It more than hit the spot!
The bagels are incredibly fluffy and robust, and have got to be made on the premises to taste this fresh. There are loads of salads, including «light» egg and tuna salads. Large selection of cream cheeses — but pity, no jalapeño.
I love the two old guys running the place. Looks like they do everything, so sometimes and order can take a little while.
Hope they stay here another 20 years!
Also buy 12 get 3 bagels!
