Prissy is great ! Came in looking like a hot mess, and I walked out looking like a different person. Will definitely come back again.

I’ve been wearing wigs for many years because whenever I take a chance at the salon it’s always a disaster. I’m very picky and hairdressers usually don’t like it when I get specific so I guess they just kinda go «eff this, wadever» lol. Prissy however was able to do my hair exactly the way I wanted. The salon itself was a pretty professional vibe so that was also a plus. I’m definitely motivated now to give those ratty wigs a break.

It pains me to have to post this but I gotta keep it real. I came here because my regular salonist was on vacation and I needed someone to press and flat iron my natural hair on my birthday. After seeing the reviews on here I decided this would a be a trustworthy spot. I made my appointment far in advance but on the day, I was running late so I called them to let them know. Prissy let me know that it was no problem. One thing I’ll say about Prissy is that she is very nice and very professional. Unfortunately that’s rare in black hair salons. I get there and I had to wait a bit but I understood because I was about half an hour late. Another woman washed my hair (she was very friendly as well) and blow dried it for me. This was the part where I started to get annoyed. After she was finished blow drying, she just stops and starts to check her phone. Doesn’t say anything to me, just stands there on her phone. Because she was so nice I felt weird about asking her what was up despite the fact that I was really in a hurry (which I made clear to her). Another woman walked into the salon and started chatting with Prissy (who was working on another client), and after the woman who was working on me started to notice me getting impatient, the woman that walked in tells me she’s gonna press my hair for me. In my head I’m like finally, thank you! She starts doing it and by the time she gets to the front, I realize that my hair is not looking neat at all. When I go to my other salonist, she uses pressing wax so that my hair comes out really smooth, straight, and shiny. With this woman, my hair was looking dry, frizzy, and tangled. What really annoyed me about it was that at one point, the woman doing my hair actually asked Prissy if she had any pressing wax, Prissy turned around looked at my hair, and said that it was fine. Like damn Prissy, really? My hair was not looking okay at all :(Once she was done, she asked me if I wanted her to wrap it for me and I did so she did. I really couldn’t see how lackluster of a job she’d done until I got home and took the bobby pins out. Considering that it was my birthday, I wasn’t happy at all. A part of me wants to go back to give them another chance but another part of me is very high maintenance about my hair and I don’t wanna pay another $ 40 to have to experience that again.
I do however want to emphasize that Priscilla is definitely more professional and nicer than my regular salonist and I like her a lot. I gotta admit their conversation had me laughing a lot and it really is a friendly environment. If I do decide to come back another time, it’s purely because of how personable she and the other woman were.

Priscilla is personable and professional. She gets busy with weaves. Once you’re in that chair you can blink and it over, plus the
price is right. I walked in as she was in the process of installing a weave and my hair wasn’t even finished getting braided before she had finished the weave and styling.

I have fallen in love with this place. Priscella is definitely my new go-​to hair dresser. She is conveniently located relatively close to my house (walking distance on a nice, warm day) however parking can be somewhat hard to find. In terms of salon appearance, it’s eclectic with it’s blue, yellow and red design. Prissy’s Place doubles as a shop for knock-​off high end items such as Louis Vuitton bags and Burberry espadrilles. What’s even better is that they look authentic for literally half the price (sometimes even less because of how flexible she is). In terms of styling, she and the resident braider move very quickly. I went into the shop (my hair was washed beforehand) at 6pm and was completely done by 8pm (including having to run two blocks up for an ATM). For a middle part sew in weave with leave out I was charged the first-​time customer rate of $ 100, $ 20 cheaper than normal. She was professional and it reminded me of getting my hair done at home. We watched TV («Best of Dancehall» — This shop is VERY Jamaican, I loved it) while I threaded the needle and she masterfully sewed in the weave. I felt so pretty afterwards. Her prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is friendly. Will definitely return.

I hardly ever write reviews but this place deserve a review. I needed to get my hair done ASAP because I had an event Thursday night. I called prissy on weds day after noon to see if she could fit me in for that evening or Thursday morning. I came in that Thursday morning. I need an extra bundle she directed to a place. My hair came out better that I could ever Imagine. She is an amazing stylist and a very sweet woman. She def made my trip from Bayshore worth it. Thanks prissy !!!

Best closure install I’ve had ever. Also affordable for a college student like myself. Next time I will take the train I got a ticket. Im from longisland so don’t know the parking rules in queens .

I Wanted A Bob & She Slayed, Not To Mention She Slayed My Eyelashes, And Her Pricings Are Affordable. She Was Open Christmas Eve, Just In Time So I Don’t Look A Mess On Christmas. I Found Her On Unilocal,& All Of Her Reviews Are Accurate, Except The Fact That She Deserves 10 Stars. Will Definitely Be Going Again!

Priscilla is a master and expert at hair period she looks at your face and knows how to craft a hairstyle period. I was just a walk in and saw her styles on here and I was very pleased with my hair the very first time and I have now made her my permanent hairstylist. You will not be disappointed she is official period.

I really love this place. I have been searching for a new hairstylist for a little over a year. I found this place on Unilocal and I can honestly say she deserves all 5 stars. She makes you feel comfortable and I personally loved the fact that she referred to me by my name. She does excellent customer service and the environment of the shop has a great feel to it. She did a great job on my hair and I’m usually very picky. I didn’t even have to tweak my hair after, it was great. Thank You Doll! You will definitely see me again.

I just left Prissy’s and I look and feel like a million bucks… she was knowledgeable, professional, gave me advice about my hair, but most of all she did a fabulous job doing my hair… she even gave me a few words of encouragement… I had a pleasant experience and I will definitely be back… thank u very much Prissy for everything …

This was my first time getting a weave and Priscilla was so kind and helpful. I didn’t have much hair to begin with but now i have really big hair and it’s awesome!

I was in need of a new beautician and found Prissy’s place through Unilocal and decided to give her a try after seeing her great reviews. I thought they might be suspect because who gets mostly all 5 star reviews. Well now I understand why she deserves the reviews you see. From the first moment I contacted her place, she was very nice, understanding and patient as I wasn’t sure exactly how I wanted my new hairstyle to look. But she walked me through it and helped me figure out what I wanted. After the appointment was set, she contacted me the morning of to remind me of my appointment, which I appreciated because some places you have to call back to verify that your appt is still set. When I arrived she was very welcoming and friendly as was her assistant as well. My hair was a total mess when I arrived but looked amazing when I left. I also had fun there as Prissy is a very energetic and entertaining hairstylist.
The place is located in a seemingly safe part of Jamaica avenue, so I had no issues leaving safely at night. The salon was very big and comfortable with a cute rug and nice looking sofas for the décor. The price for my hairstyle was reasonably priced as well. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone in need of a great beautician who also open late. It was well worth the commute from LI. Just be sure to arrive early to find parking if you drive there. I’ll be going back here for many more visits in the future.

I am not one for having weaves put in my hair. Plus my hair is thinning alot and I really did not know what kind of weave to do. But I search for a place that I hoped would do it well. So I found Prissy Place. So on Saturday I decided to go. I was there at 930am waiting. They did not show up until 1030 but that was Prisilla was in China and had just returned basically the same day… But any how… she was great… the place was great… Julie was great in braiding my hair she did it quick. Then Prisilla did my weave… she was quick too… They explained what I would need for my hair, the length that would be appropriate even down to the color. This is going to be my place… I even had my granddaughter come the same day to get her hair braided (she is 4yrs old). Julie was very patient with my grandbaby and I thanked her very much. Prisilla did a great job and I’m very happy with the results. Thank you so much. If you want your weave done quick and professionally great atmosphere respectful just genuine true customer service come here you won’t be disappointed.

OMG! Prissy is Amazing. I got my very first sew in weave. I asked her a lot of questions and she’s knows a lot about hair. I am so glad I chose her to do my hair for my wedding. She made my hair look fabulous! She was very kind, helpful and she did my hair quickly. My hair is soft, bouncy and looks real. I love it! I’m definitely going back to her again. I highly recommend her to anyone that wants their hair done by her. You won’t regret it.

Just got my hair did at Prissy’s Place and boy am I glad I did.
I was a little nervous at first because I have all natural hair and wanted a style that wouldn’t require straightening if I left the front/​top out. Soooo, I decided to go for a lace part closure.
I arrived with no weaving hair so Priscilla told me what store to go to for the closure and hair. Of course I went to the wrong store, came back to the shop and had to return to the store to exchange the part/​closure, which Priscilla patiently explained to me wouldn’t work.
It took a while for her to get started because she had other clients but she worked very quickly. And the girl that braided my hair braided it very neatly and was kind too! Also, Priscilla listens to what you want and does just that, unlike some beauticians I’ve encountered.
The salon is super clean and the décor very nice. I even lounged on the couch, sitting under the fan and reading while waiting for her to finish up with other customers. It was so peaceful in that place!
When I walked out, I had an extra pep in my step because Priscilla had worked her magic. Thank you Priscilla!
Oh and her prices are very fair too.

This was my very first time trying a new hair stylist in over 7 years and I can honestly say I was pleased with my experience. Priscilla was very professional, kind and I immediately felt like I knew her for a while after how comfortable she made me feel talking to her and other clients in the salon. My hair is a bit damaged and she explained to me why bc I wasn’t really sure what was causing my hair to break off, she also suggested hair grease I should use to take care of my dry scalp which to me shows how she also considers her clients natural hair and not just focus on the weave.
The salon is a very pleasant environment she also provides very nice virgin hair so you could kill two birds with one stone by buying her hair she has for sale and getting it installed.
As far as the style she did for me, I was nervous trying curly hair because I’ve never tried it and I was afraid my hair wouldn’t blend well but she did an exceptional job with that. I would definitely continue coming to her salon and recommend family and friends to come! She will not disappoint.

It’s been such a long time. Since I got my hair done. I’ve had such bad experiences with salons, believe it or not the African-​american types. Either they just don’t how to take care of hair or they are just very impersonableable — flat out rude. Will eat over their customers. I’ve seen it all.
However, for this particular hair salon. You’ll find none of that. They are professional, without coming off as better then their customers. They take their art seriously.
I have lupus and as a result that comes with balding in some places. At times. I worried about this and styling my hair. I wanted senegalese twists, but I was very fearful that it wouldn’t work out with my balding. Boy was I wrong. I was asked to come in prior to making an appointment. They wanted to check out my hair before. Both felt like I was making a big deal of nothing. When you look at my lovely twists. I was.
Georgia did a fantastic job with working with my tender scalp. Parting and styling it in a way, where I can’t remember having the balding issue. At the end she detailed my locks. Clipped fly aways and so on.
Priscilla and Georgia make a great team! They have given me hope regardless of my disease. I can trust them with my hair and this problem I’m battling. I feel like they are there for the community. That’s why I’ll be going back to maintain my hair.
I highly recommend them :)

I give this salon five stars she does great work in a timely fashion and Priscilla and her fashion crew are very nice and courteous. this is one place you would never regret going to and her prices are very reasonable. She also have a beautician that specializes in hair braiding just ask for Georgia. She braid my ten year old daughter hair and it was beautiful.

Prissy is very professional and personable. I just got my hair done and I absolutely love it. She is a master at her craft. My scalp is very tender and I usually have issues when I get my hair weaved but Prissy takes her time and doesn’t sew tight at all but the hair still feels secure.
She sells great quality bundle hair at her shop and I must mention the shop not only looks beautiful but it’s huge and very comfortable.
I definitely recommend this place if you want your hair slayed to the gawds! lol. The shop is also close to a shopping area if you want to go shoping after.
