This place leaves a lot to be desired from its appearance but the food is good and they make it fresh. The prices are decent and they offer combo meals that will fit your budget.

Fast food fried chicken appears a dime a dozen down in Jamaica. For my first experience, I decided to check out Quality Fried Chicken & Pizza. When I walked by this place, there was a billboard on the sidewalk advertising a few lunch specials. The one that caught my eye was the 2 pc. fried chicken with fries & soda for $ 5. The layout of the establishment is fairly basic: a countertop running length-wise on the right side, with a few tables near the back. Behind the counter was a glass booth for fried chicken, deep fryer, and oven for baking pizza. Above the counter was one of the most confusing menus I’ve ever seen. The menu is spread across the length of the countertop, displaying all their specials from fried chicken, mixed chicken, chicken wings, hot wings, boneless hot wings, chicken tenders, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, whiting fish. Not only was the menu vast, but it also appeared that the menu seemed to repeat itself with slight variations in the sides(fries, rolls, soda) and prices. To keep it simple, I ordered the 2 pc. fried chicken with fries & soda. It took about 5 minutes for my meal to be prepared, as I had to wait for the fries to be cooked in the deep fryer. Two pieces of chicken and fries were placed in a rectangular white box and brown bagged along with 3 packets of hot sauce, some napkins and a plastic fork. Also included was a medium soda for $ 5, no tax. Decently priced, yet slightly higher as compared to the numerous neighboring fried chicken places on Hillside Ave. For my 2 pieces, I received a thigh and a leg. The fried chicken was pretty tasty, with crispy skin trapping in the juicy and tender dark meat. The french fry portions were a bit skimpy, about the size of medium fries at McDonald’s/Burger King. The fries were more similar to Burger King fries, extra crispy on the outside yet still retaining a moistness inside.
