Description

Specialties

Remember: Jasper has a weather predicted tourism industry. Our café hours change from winter to spring and fall to winter and anytime due to forecasts. Please, call before you travel. Our hotel is open all year, if the snow or rain necessitate a room for the night.

Always thriving to bring local produce and unique meats to your table. Our mostly organic, family-owned café is a small, quaint, space that shares its walls with nature photography, a new-age Jesus, and a chiming, antique grandfather clock. The café is owned by the same farmer that runs the boutique hotel, the Arkansas House (a five-room guesthouse), a cabin on the Little Buffalo River (sleeps up to eight people), and the Jasper House (a bunkhouse for the frugal travelers). Come hike and climb the Ozark bluff-line, canoe the first nationally revered river, the Buffalo; enjoy driving tours in the fall colors, or reserve our space for your next reunion! Ask about our concierge services.

History

Established in 2005.

My mother, Janet Morgan, heralded her dream to continue her grandfather’s burger diner. After years of raising five children, between food-famous New Orleans and on the family farm near the town where the café now sits, Joseph and Janet decided to turn their passion into service to humankind through healthy, home-style cooking. We honor their lineages by serving our family’s favorites such as seafood gumbo, shrimp creole, stuffed lamb burgers, eggplant parmesan. You can also feast on her twists of traditional fare, hot muffalettas, elk and buffalo sausage gumbo, seasonal vegetable stir-fry. The beef served is raised grazing our certified organic family farm!

Meet the Manager

Aprilhelen M.

Manager

Being raised in many diverse cultural settings in the plains’ states, down in cajun country, and across the ocean on the big island, my love for food as medicine has been a grounding force, especially learning on an organic farm beginning at age ten. Now with thirty-eight years of the practice in the art of living, and after owning two therapeutic studios, retail space, and art gallery, I’ve come back to Newton County to pursue a greater vision, an educational center that specializes in quality longevity, building well-balanced personalities, and servitude to humankind. (The profile picture is one of my sister and I in front of our parent’s café.)
