I wish I could agree with the previous two reviews, but here is what I experienced: I was staying there for an extended period while working a large industrial project nearby. I was one of the early-hired workers, and I got a pretty decent rate, weekly. Problem is, as more workers show up, demand goes up, and all of the sudden the owners think its OK to start raising rent after my being there for a month and a half. Not the worst, though. I had to change my room once due to getting my legs bitten while sleeping. Looked like bedbug bites to the plant nurse, or maybe fleas. The rooms I saw were dated. The TVs are old CRTs, not flatscreens. No HBO or On Demand. The minifridges barely work, and will not make or keep ice. The big ice machine(s) are broken and you must ask for rebagged ice at the front desk. The beds are OK provided you are the only living thing in them, the pillows plentiful if old and rather flat. Sheets kinda thin, towels rather small. Shower so-so.(Temp and pressure control meets minimum expectations, but the old waterpik style«massage» showerheads quit working long, long ago.) Towel bars in one of my rooms kept falling off the wall. And the key-card system would make a preacher cuss. There may have been a guest laundry once, but it is gone. The pool was closed when I was there, but it sticks out in the parking lot and frankly, I have owned bigger coffee cups. The WiFi is actually quite good. The parking lot and access from the road is steep and tured sharply. You will not be able to get a semi-truck or RV of any great size into the lot.(Maybe not such a bad thing.) Smoking and non-smoking rooms available, 2-story, outside corridors and no elevator. Breakfast is cold cereal, apples, OJ, milk or coffee. Store-bought muffins and one of those mini-waffle machines. I think the owners are milking the cash cow too dry and need to feed Bossy for long-term profitability.

OK, yes, it’s an older hotel and doesn’t have all the fancy, foo-foo stuff that some have come to expect — but for a bargain hotel, it’s the bees’ knees! Neat as a pin, ALL the amenities(fridge, microwave, coffee maker in room, hairdryer, plenty of towels, lots of pillows, a bed that I’d like to take home, desk with actual office chair, AMAZING shower! — I mean this shower was so good that I wanted to take another one in the morning!) It’s quiet, cheap, and parking rocks. Plus, unlike the fancy-schmancy one next door that charges $ 100+ per night for basically the same room, the wifi actually WORKS! Oh, and the desk clerk was a doll. If I ever have the desire to travel through BFE Alabama again, I’ll be staying here.

Cute spacious room, inexpensive, quality free breakfast, got a great night’s sleep, good water pressure in the shower. Only complaint is the room walls are too thin, we woke because it sounded like someone was in our room when it was really the adjoining room.
