Sackett’s Western Wear

I came here for the first time today after eyeing this business for several years. I convinced my husband to stop here on our way home from Georgia to Florida. The young girl working there was very friendly and asked me several times if she could help me. The other employees barely looked at me much less said hello. I located a pair of boots I really liked and I found a size that worked for me. I then proceeded to the desk to check out. I purchased them at a good price plus the 10% off March discount. I then secured the boots in my truck and went back inside to use the restroom. My husband and kids stayed outside. After I finished using the restroom I then walked outside as the same friendly young lady walked back inside to tell her boss that «they had a receipt, I saw it.» I then asked my husband if she checked my receipt for the boots I purchased and he said yes. I promptly took my boots back inside to confront them about why they asked to see my receipt. I then learned some uninformed customer made the assumption that I was a thief and went to the desk to tell them they should check my receipt. Instead of checking with their employees before confronting me in the parking lot like I was a shoplifter, the manager also made the assumption that I was a thief and had her younger clerk check my receipt on the suggestion of a judgmental customer. I believe that was VERY bad business. Furthermore, if they are so concerned with retail theft then perhaps someone should post up at the door, check EVERYONES receipts and sign the receipt that it was checked. Instead they singled me out. Shame on you Sacketts! It was my first time in your store and what an impression you made. I won’t be back. I had them refund my money. I no longer wanted to support a business such as this that took the word of a middle-​aged female customer who evidently had nothing better to do but watch strangers at a western store and make assumptions about them.

My 9 yr old daughter thinks this is HER store… lol. I love Sackets. I was so excited when they opened years ago. Every time I have «mad money» that’s where I go. Great staff. Friendly and helpful.

Nice store but some employees not too friendly. The younger female employees were friendly and helpful. However the middle aged woman was not the most friendly. She was curt in her responses and didn’t appear to want our business. Good selection of western wear. Worth the drive to check out the merchandise.
