History
Established in 1988.
The Riverfront Apartments was once home to one of the Copeland — Ryder Co. Copeland — Ryder Co. was a shoe factory known for making quality shoes and started in Jefferson in 1868. Copeland — Ryder stayed in business for over a century and decided to close in 1977. In 1988 the building was converted to apartments. This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
