I’ve seen the truck around before, but hadn’t had a chance to try it. Seeing that they were at the Fleur de Flea, I knew the time had come!
I love me some Turkish/​Mediterranean/​Middle Eastern fare, so I knew what to expect, in general.
I asked the cashier whether she preferred the gyro or the köfte sandwich. I went with her recommendation of the köfte (no tomatoes because I’m a wierdo, baby) with the bbq-​y type sauce that she also suggested. Prep time was a little longer than I expected, but the food when it came out was pretty darn tasty! The köfte meat was spicier than I expected, but it made for a great lunch!
I would not hesitate to come back the next time I see them at an event.

The food is very delicious. My personal favorite is the kofte. The food is paired well with tomato salad and seasoned onions. I will definitely be searching around for this food truck. Recommended to anyone who hasn’t tried it.

Zoom Zoom is one those food trucks that I’ve seen many times and never tried. You know the type, the «Why haven’t I ever tried this before?» truck. I am very upset that I only recently tried them out because the food is great. Turkish food is a great break from the norm.
The first time I tried them I had a beef Gyro. I LOVE GYROS! As a native of the Chicago area I grew up with the option of having a Gyro virtually anywhere and anytime. It’s been a little difficult to find a good Gyro in Louisville but Zoom Zoom is my new favorite spot for a Gyro. Although their Gyro isn’t Lamb their beef gyro is just as tasty and a fine alternative to lamb. They also have a chicken gyro but I wasn’t in a fowl mood.
Recently I visited them again and the cook was kind enough to tell me that it was going to take a while to fill my order because he was still cooking the beef for gyros. He offered the Adana Kabob as an alternative to the beef gyro. I was not disappointed. The kabob is pretty similar to their gyro with regards to the cucumber salad and wrap but the meet is more on the spicier side. I couldn’t tell you about the spices that went into the beef kabob but what I can tell you is that the Adana Kabob goes great with a coke… followed by a Bourbon for dessert. Yes, I enjoyed it that much, it deserves to be capped off with a nice drink.

I ordered gyro paid way to much and it was on a flour tortilla. It was small and just sucked I will never get anything else from this truck.

Overall, this experience was pretty good. The lady who took my order was really nice and advised me on the most authentic option to have and it was really good. I ordered the kofta on bread. Everything was fresh and you could see them forming the food right in front of you. I really enjoyed this sandwich. In terms of the downside, the line took forever, but I don’t think they were used to as many people as there were. Also, the menu was really limited. They should expand beyond six items!

I ordered the #3 gyro meat on rice. I found it lacking flavor and meat, greasy and expensive for what it was. I’ve had more gyro meat in a sandwich at the mall and tastier. The best part was the tomato salad and the yogurt sauce. Will not be looking for them.

Really good kebabs and kofta. Nice addition to the downtown food truck scene. Something different from the burgers, barbecue, Korean and Mexican offerings.

The setup is a thing to behold. The truck features a long side window that nicely frames the grill. There were a lot of cig smokers sitting on Main Street benches but their stink was beautifully thwarted by the grill. And traditional Turkish food on wheels is a breath of fresh air next to all the standard mobile American fare.
Nothing crazy, just a lot of nicely seasoned meat. So far, a limited menu (I think beef is pretty much all they serve), but credit them for doing it well. As of this writing, I’ve only eaten one lunch, but my kofte was very good, and my friend raved about his gyro meat. It won’t make me forget about eating at Safier (south downtown near Broadway) but I’ll be on the look out for this truck again.
