The Law Firm of Sawyer & Demitri has focused on general civil litigation. We have tried cases in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and in many state courts. We have argued cases in three of the four New York State Appellate Divisions, the New York State Court of Appeals, the First and Second United States Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court.

Jim Sawyer graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 1969, Dean’s List, was admitted to the Bar at age 24, and has been engaged in a general civil litigation and transactional practice ever since.

Jim is a member of the American, New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice and New York State Trial Lawyer’s Association.
