The quality of few items like a version of chicken lollipop –Kai chi(drums of heaven) was subpar. It was undercooked — tasted like raw meat. Had to throw it out. Happened twice in a row now.

Had a very bad delivery service unfortunately — the rice was cold, the raita was a liquid consistency and the overall quality of the curries were disgusting… Not sure if this was because the restaurant side of things was closed since we ordered after 10pm but the cooks were extremely lazy. No head chef here. 4 stars on seamless? Extremely misleading. 37 dollars on two curries and tandoori chicken WASTED.

Their food is very tasty especially their tandoori chicken, chicken lollipop and drums of heaven. Chicken biriyani was yummy although it was a bit spicy. Their mutton curries have disappointed us twice but still we live to go to the place again for other tasty items. Carry out is best as the place is too small to dine in. Would definitely recommend and go again.

I have had much better Desi food. I had a pickup order and the food was absolutely terrible. The chicken lollipop was flavorful on the outside and no flavor on the inside, slightly soggy. Pani Puri tasted okay just the puri it self but the sauce was absolutely terribly watered down. The packaging was over exaggerated, large container of sauce for few pieces. Goat Briyani was okay, could have been better. Wasn’t cooked enough. Mango Lassi was also watered down, again terrible packaging, oversized container. Finally, the vegetable samosa delish. That was the best order out of all.

Had shrimp byriani and vegetable korma and requested MILD– the food is so hot it burned my lips!!! Also the vegetable korma was short on substantive veggies– it Also contained TOFU!!! I never asked for that and it isn’t usually in vegetable korma. The shrimp also had an odd taste, perhaps frozen or perhaps not fresh or bad. Never again.

Discovered this restaurant last week and my wife and I paid a visit. The taste was awesome — delhi food! The owner was very nice and friendly. We had ordered more than we could eat and the Dum Biryani — we asked them to pack. Owner recommended we try the Biryani fresh — and boy were in a treat — great taste and the«Dum» nan was savory. We also had Chola bhatura. Chole were awesome, although Bhatura looked different than we are used to. Mr Owner — can you bring Chole Kulche to the menu … yum! :) If you are looking for solid north Indian Dhaba style taste(esp. Delhi) this is a great place. If you are more about ambiance — then take our or deliver when you want taste ;)

I ordered the FIsh goan curry and Samosa chaat(although it wasn’t on the menu, they made it). Loved it! I had it delivered so I can’t say anything about dining in. The food was delicious! Had a different flavor from many of the Indian places i’ve ordered from in the area and was just so flavorful!

Chanced upon this on GrubHub. We are always looking for places, especially Indian places that will deliver and this fit the bill. My wife and I love to eat out and order in so we have tasted a lot of Indian food. This is the only place where we simply LOVED every dish we ordered. An absolute must try is their Chicken malai tikka, chicken 65, chicken tikka. Curries are nice too and they have some interesting takes — like achari(pickled) dal. Delivery was prompt and atleast 20 min before I was expecting it and the price is unbeatable. The next best Indian restaurant in the area(that we order from) has dishes priced at least 1.5 to 2 times these guys. Portions are generous and curries come with rice(not basmati though) as a standard accompaniment. Overall 5 stars for great taste, prompt service and value for money. DISCLAIMER: We don’t measure the quality of North Indian food on spicy and oil levels since that is pretty much standard in Mughlai cuisine. If you are averse to oily grub and cannot tolerate mild to medium spice levels, this is not the place for you. But then the exclusion would apply to almost all mughlai serving restaurants.

So I ordered my food at 7:15 and I got to my place and 915. That’s right I waited two hours for delivery. So might be best piece of advice would be if you’re looking to eat this food I highly recommend that you ordered two hours in advance minimal. Now having said that here’s the food that I ordered. I ordered the lamb Rogan Josh, dhal, samosa, pau bhaji, 2 rotis and a naan. You must be thinking how can somebody give the restaurant five stars if it’s food took two hours. Well, it was obviously well worth the wait. This may have been some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had in my life– and I am Indian. I would highly highly highly recommend this place but definitely order well in advance. The delivery charge is high because I ordered from GrubHub, but the food is relatively inexpensive so it does even out.

VERY good. One of the best(alongside Chaska, Rasoi, Vaibhav) in JC. Butter chicken, palak paneer, tandoori chicken… All excellent. Expect an hour for delivery to downtown.

This place is Great!!! Chicken tikka masala and samosas are delicious! The Gulab Jamun is an awesome dessert and the quality of the food overall is great. I’ve been ordering from here and from Karma café in Hoboken but this place has much better samosas!

I literally live one minute away so I’ve been meaning to try them out. I decided to stop by after finishing a load of laundry across the street. Put in my order and went home to drop off my clothes. Went back 20 mins later to pick up my favorite Indian items mango lassi, palak paneer, malai kofta, and lasooni(had to Google that) naan. The menu is available online and thank goodness I looked at it while my wash was going! Took a he mins to look up a few of the names of things and was happy to recognize familiar things. Very reasonably priced. Malai kofta came with three round balls and plenty of sauce. The naan was wrapped in foil and about 8 inches in diameter. Have to say that it was probably the largest I’ve ever had outside of a restaurant. Soft yet crispy, buttery and garlicky — the naan was perfect. The best was the palak paneer. It’s different from others I’ve had in that it seems freshly made. There was literally that fresh spinach taste and was nicely spicy(very mild). The one downside was that my mango lassi was placed in the bag with the piping hot food so it was pretty tepid. Added some ice when I got home and it was perfect. Curiously, it came in a pint container and a straw but that didn’t bother me :) Makes sense if they need to deliver it. Oh, it came with one small container of rice. Fine for one person like me but if you’re ordering for two, you may want to ask for another. I have enough left for two more meals so I’m pretty happy. Make sure to try it so that I can keep going back :) Oh! I forgot to mention… The place was packed when I went by at 7:30pm on a Saturday.

I ordered delivery yesterday and was shocked by the horrible taste and texture of the food. The fried rice was impossible to eat and the rice had a very bad, unpleasant taste. The price points were good, but very disappointed by the food quality.

They have a very small place, Compare to other restaurant. They provide very good taste food. I prefer taste over looks. I have tried lots of different veg and non-veg dishes, trust me they’re unlike other restaurant. They have best food, best naan on whole newark ave. Naan just melts in mouth. Its not like other naan chewy or stretchable.

I was initially skeptical for ordering dinner from this place since it had very few ratings but I thought of giving it a shot since it was named«Dhaba». Menu has a lot of varieties and its way economical compared to other Indian restaurants around. Ordered via Seamless and the food arrived in 15 minutes and was steaming hot. The portions were bigger and delicious — especially the Malai Kofta and paneer tikka masala — Yummm and guess the best part — the Rotis were cooked on Tawa and were 100% whole wheat compared to Tandoori rotis which have flour mixed in and gets too hard to eat by the time they are delivered. It was just like Homemade food cooked by a Restaurant Chef !!!

I had ordered from canteen on my anniversary day for 15 people. The manager over canteen is very co-operative and helpful. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala curry which was very tasty and also ordered biryani which was best in jersey city. My guest were so happy with food quality and they really appreciate the restaurant. Thank You canteen for making my day special :-)
