We moved into our new place to discover the intercom system was broken. I called Easy Intercom and set up an appointment for the next day for the system to be inspected. The service guy showed up on time and got to work right away. He determined that the cable had been cut and needed to run a new wire and I was quoted a charge of $ 300. So far, so good.
I went upstairs to make some phone calls, and when I came back down the spigot in front yard is spraying water all over the place, despite not being turned on. I asked what happened and was told that the water just started spraying all over the place when he started drilling through the concrete to run another wire. I was suspicious, and asked he to show me where he started drilling. He pointed to two places well above the water line. After I got the water shut off, he told me he’d be back «later» because the batteries for his drilled had died. In the mean time, I called a plumber to deal with the leak.
The plumber shows up and has to replace the pipe to the tune of $ 465 (ouch!). He shows me the pipe that needed replacing, and guess what the problem was… there was a drill hole in the pipe. The intercom guy tried to drill a hole right next to the freaking water pipe. I’m no expert, but simple common sense tells me that this is a disaster waiting to happen.
I contact the intercom installer and tell him why the pipe was leaking. He assures me that he did not do it (riiiiiiiight) and that he will come back later to finish the job. I asked him to adjust his price, which he did, but I was very irritated about being outright lied to about the damage.
He shows back up at 7:45 pm, which in my mind is a little late in the day to deal with this. He finally admitted that the leak was his fault. I didn’t want to stiff the guy, since he seemed like a nice enough older gentleman, so I paid him the negotiated rate. He did, after all, fix my intercom. Later that night, I got a text from said repair man asking if I would like to have the remote unlock feature fixed on my door as well… to the tune of $ 280. I gotta give him credit, he has some balls on him. You just f*#$ed up my pipe, I paid you anyway because I’m not a complete jerk, and then you have the audacity to ask me to rehire you?
On top of that, I went outside this morning to inspect the work in daylight. Total half-a$$ed job. The wire was «sealed» between my home and my neighbors with cardboard that he took out of my garbage (I recognized the IKEA stuff) and jammed between the two buildings. The wire that was not in the cardboard was covered in some puffy calking crap that makes my building look like it has a tumor. I’m going to have to remove it and re-​calk it myself. At night when I first saw the calk it didn’t look too bad, but it was pretty atrocious during daylight hours.
In conclusion, call someone else. He’s a nice guy and will repair your intercom, but the headache and hassle that seems to accompany the work is entirely not worth it.

Absolutely a pleasure of doing business with him. I bought a 2 family home last year and the intercom system had never worked. The buzzer — the bell works. When someone outside pushes the button for an apartment, the bell inside the apartment works, but even though the panel inside and outside clearly indicates you can have a two-​way intercom calls, it had never worked. So, over the weekend, the handyman I am, I tried to figure out if I could fix the calling feature. Well, the internal wiring was all CAT5, many little tiny wires with faded colors. I gave up after just pushing bunch of jumpers and disconnecting wires. I put all wires back together, put the jumpers I played with back (maybe) and thought maybe I should get a professional help. But, why waste money and fix something that was never working. So, I let it be. Well, a few days later, my tenants told me their buzzer is now not working.
Damn it, I may have shorted or disconnected something. Now, I really have to fix it. So, I googled Intercom Jersey City, and found a few companies that worked owith intercoms. I called a couple of companies, but didn’t get a good response, most of them wanted to replace my entire unit. I knew, thought, it was just a matter of wiring it correctly. Finally, when I called Ramesh at Easy Intercom at 9 am, I got; Voicemail is not setup message. I called a few more times to no avail. Finally, I called him from work at around 1pm and he picked up. I told him the model number of the intercom; he said yes yes I know. I told him what the problem was and what I think the cause is, he said he would be there today or tomorrow and to text him the address. I though, wtf, really, you are just going to show up, COOL. So, I said yeah I will text you my address. So, I did. After not getting his response at 3 pm, I texted him again asking if he was going to show up today or tomorrow. He replied back instantly saying I will be there at 4:30 or 7pm. I did not want to argue with that, so I said, thank you, and see you there. After work at around 5pm, I went to a bar with some buddies thinking I will get home before he will get to my house at 7pm if he even decided to show up. Well, at 6:30 my wife calls me who happens to be working from home that day saying a guy came and fixed the intercom and asking for a $ 100 for parts a labor, and he was there for over an hour and a half. I was like wooooooooo. Yes, please pay him. Also, put him on the phone so I can talk to him to thank him. Some of you will understand when I say this; it was like finding that mechanic you could fully trust.
I will absolutely, recommend this guy to anyone.
