Kultural Kuisines did not renew their lease for this property. The owner is looking for a new property to open again. What a loss for the JSQ neighborhood. Will keep followers posted if I get further information on a reopening.

This is a place I have only ordered take out or delivery from, mostly because the little space it has to dine-in is not very appealing. The food, on the other hand is usually great .The hubby is a fan of their biriyani which is spicy with plenty of masala. Even i like it at times but mostly I think the flavours are a little too overpowering. I usually stick to the Chicken Tikka and Achari Chicken Kathi rolls. The Kathi rolls are kinda like the Indian version of wraps but way more flavorful. They are spicy and tangy and super delish. There have been times when I have ordered take-out.been told it would take 25 mins and still had to wait an additional 20 mins to actually get the if you are ordering take-out, I suggest you call them again before coming to pick it up.

Unacceptable! Food is outstanding but not worth the price and the service stinks. My wife and I ordered two dishes, two drinks, and two sides the total came under 40 dollars. The service was prompt but they neglected to tell us on the phone that only curry dishes come with rice. We called back to ask them why we did not receive the rice and they explained why. The driver was sent back with rice, which was fair but they could have gotten it right the first time. They also wanted us to pay in cash despite us asking if they accept plastic. They also sent us the wrong side dishes.

This place is great. I’ve only had the Kathi rolls thus far, but I’ve chatted with the owner a number of times and it’s clear he takes great pride in the quality of the food, and ingredients. Very nice guy. The place doesn’t look like much frame the outside, but it’s good stuff. Check out the rolls for sure.

I just ate here a few hours ago. This restaurant is at the very end of an entire street full of Indian restaurants. Most of the restaurants on this street lack sophistication and proper hygiene, and this one is no exception. The restaurant has a third world sort of feel to it. Their main(and pretty much only) item on the menu is foot long kathi rolls. They take a bunch of ingredients(depending on what type you order) and roll them up into a large piece of naan. It’s basically like eating an Indian burrito. I’m vegetarian so I ordered the mix veg kathi roll, but they also make them with chicken, shrimp, and other meats. I only ate half of it and was already full. I’m saving the other half for tomorrow. I paid a total of $ 6.50, and it came with a can of soda. They have a small seating area for people who prefer to eat their food right there, but I’m the only one who chose to sit there. Everyone else who came into the place got take out. Overall, this is a decent place if you’re hungry for a kathi roll. I wouldn’t come here with friends as an outing, and I definitely wouldn’t bring a girl here on a date. Come hungry, and come alone.

Navigating the wealth of Indian food options in Jersey City is intimidating. It becomes maddening when you realize that the vast majority are vegetarian. If you need meat to feel satisfied but love Indian food like me, this is a problem. Enter Kultural Kuisines. Seeing the decent reviews on here and without a better idea for a quick meal, my girlfriend and I stopped by. The owner manned the counter and was very friendly, making sure we understood the menu and got our free can of soda. The wait and price for the food was reasonable, and it took it to go. I got the chicken tikka roll. It was okay but not something I’d go out of my way for. Granted I am not an expert on kathi rolls, but from what I understand, it’s sort of like an Indian burrito. Well unlike a burrito, there was no synergy between the ingredients. Nothing really popped in terms of flavor or spice. It seems like they took the bread, slapped ingredients on it, and then rolled it up. It wasn’t bad mind you, but I didn’t find it satisfying and I’d never go out of my way for it. My girlfriend got the mutter paneer, which she thought was just okay and didn’t come close to finishing. When I went for the leftovers a day and a half later, I found that this dish had already gone bad. That really makes me suspect about the freshness of the ingredients here, as it would normally last for 3 – 4 days if fresh. It says something that I haven’t come back here despite the mostly piss-poor food options nearby. Maybe I just caught Kultural Kuisines on a bad day, but I’m not really rushing to give them another shot either. Oh well…

I have been going to newark street restaurants for sometime, but recently discovered this gem which is slightly off from the main indian street. A friend recommended me this place or I would have never discovered this. I ordered chicken and paneer kathi rolls and they were full of flavor… $ 15 for two kathi rolls and we ate them for dinner and lunch next day. I would definitely come back and try something else. Owner lucky is very affable person… I think he needs to advertise this bit more so that more people know about this hidden gem in jsq area

I have been living in Jersey City and have been passing by this restaurant every other day. I am a big foodie and would always go for a nice Indian dinner 4 – 5 times a week with friends at Indian Street restaurants(Newark Ave). Things changed when I tried out Kultural Kuisines by chance when I was in a hurry. The food’s taste simply bowled me over. The owner’s hospitality is charming too. A nice sophisticated dhaba style food and ambiance. I kid you not, my trips to other Indian restaurants have fallen drastically and am a regular at Kultural Kuisine now. The awesome tasty variety of food and the owner’s pride in fresh made food simply gives you a satisfying feeling after you finish off you plate. I totally recommend this and invite others to give suggestions for getting it’s name out on social media.( Unilocal/foursquare/facebook). This restaurant deserves much more.

I’ve been consistently satisfied, the owner is super friendly and very accommodating. They close at 10 but I’ve been here several times as they were closing and was able to order. I come here every time I get a craving for a kathi roll or a byriani. And for under 10 bucks for something that can easily become two meals really can’t be beat. Great place to get lunch and dinner for a nice filling meal. I’ll be back, probably next week. Delivery usually does take a while but so do most of Indian places in the area(for some reason) — best to go here for take out.

For those of us who live in the Journal Square area, we are keenly aware that takeout places are generally terrible in our area. That being said, I was particularly skeptical of this place. The spot currently held by this establishment is one of those«cursed» spots of the JSQ area where no place has lasted more than two years here. Today, I was feeling like something I haven’t tried before, and I figured this place was worth a shot. I pass by it relatively frequently on my way home from the PATH station, and I’ve always noticed that there is at least one customer there irrespective of the lateness of the hour. I ordered the chicken tikka kathi roll and was not disappointed. For $ 7, the foot-long roll certainly was quite a bit of food for the price. My only complaint is that it really needed something extra to cut the richness. While I don’t know that much about Indian food, I know that salads in the western sense are not something traditionally served with this wrap-like concoction. Next time, I will try it with their mango lassi. I’m not sure how good it’ll come out, however, given that it is extremely hot in that small establishment, haha. One thing is for sure: you should best forget the Subway 6-inch or foot long special. At the same price point, you can go kathi with Kultural.

All right, let me start with this — All restaurants on Jersey city’s «Indian Street»(Newark) ave are low end, and mostly don’t serve so great food. Curry will be oily and mostly, made from fronzen food or recooked old item — 2 – 3 days stuff.(admitted by chef, few times!)(Beauty of indian food, it’s always fresh! These few hotels don’t really care about that philosophy) However, this restaurant was a surprise. First of all, they deliver food. In 45 minutes.(never been there personally) I am a Veggie guy and my friends respected that. We had Chhole Saag and Navratna korma. Both light and lovely. Felt like they really made it fresh(and no dipped in oil curry experience!). Whole wheat Roti(tandoori) was made to order, with onion. So it was like having onion naan, with wholesome whole wheat. Salted lassi was sweet, but that’s all right, i wont dig upon that. Instead of(complimantry) free rice, they gave us Vegg Biryani. Can’t ask for more ! I will order food, again ! Thanks to their low-minimum food-order requirement!

If you want to eat testy n spicy food at reasonable than this place is perfect. Their portion size is very big, one biryaani is good for two. Only problem that I hv with them is that if you order for take out then it’s ok but if you want to eat inside the restaurant then all your cloths and hair will be covered with spice smell because they don’t have good ventilation.

We ordered online via seamless and it was very fast delivery. Definitely within 30 minutes and they also have a 20% off coupon on seamless. We got the mutter paneer and chicken makhani which were both delicious and it came with a side of Indian rice. We also got the mango lassi which was ok; it wasn’t as thick as I would have liked it to be. Overall great service and food!

Kultural Kuisine was orginally suggested to us by a friend who lives in the neighborhood near KK. We’ve ordered from them several times an have not been disappointed. We recently ordered the Vegetable Biryani, Vegetable Jalfrezi, and Saag Paneer. The food was delivered in 30 minutes and was nice and warm when we received it. The food was delicious, as always. We have also had the Kathi rolls, as well as other non-veggie dishes and they are good as well. Overall, very good Indian spot.

I ordered from these guys because I was cracing Kati Rolls but didn’t want to venture into the city for them. I ordered the foot long chicken tikka roll, the chicken tikka app, and the veg samosa. The food arrived in under 30 min(which was impressive because I’m a good 15 min drive). It was still hot and my first impression of the roll was WOW this thing is massive. Now, don’t expect it to be as good as Manhattan, the tastes are all there, but it doesn’t all come quite together like the city establishments. I did notice that this roll was a lot less greasy though, so that could be a reason. The wrap was thinner and dryer like a roti. Overall though, for $ 7, I was pretty happy. The veg samosas were just average. I have yet to try any of their other dishes. However, for this price and the speedy delivery, I will definitely order again to get my fix of indian fast food.

There’s plenty of Indian places in this area but I love this place for takeout. I’m not Indian but my husband is. I simply can’t handle the heat and spiciness of other restaurants. He won’t eat Indian food unless its got a certain level of heat and spice. We get to specify what needs to be spicy and what shouldn’t and they delivery. They make both of us happy. What do we order? 1) Dahl(split pea stew) extra spicy with their garlic paratha. I picked it up one time and found out they make the paratha upon ordering. Hubby’s fave but I can’t eat it because it’s like eating fire. 2) Goan fish curry. Nice alternative to chicken tikka masala. I ask them to put less cream and less spice but its REALLLLY good even without it. Big pieces of fresh fish and curry leaves throughout. My favorite dish. They also have a really good grilled fish. You get the whole thing with the head on. 3) Kathi rolls: Indian burritos. I like the one with green sauce of coriander and mint. Very fresh. We normally order regular sized rolls because we like to order a few items for variety but we have ordered the large one and it is HUGE. It’s like $ 4 more than the regular roll but easily feeds 3. The wrapper alone is the size of a small pizza. Its the normal fillings but then they add a layer of egg. 4) Aloo Sev Puri: Indian streetfood but they remind me of Indian nachos. They mix chickpeas with lots of herbs, onions and and tamarind chutney and then pile it on little round chickpea crackers that are like really good rice crackers. Sounds weird but I was feeling adventurous one night decided to order something I’d never tried. I got lucky. It’s like $ 5 and soooo good that I have ordered it every time since then. * My apologies for the comparisons to other cuisines’ dishes but it’s the easiest way I can give others a point of reference of what to expect. Worst thing about them: Takes forever for delivery(45 minutes-ish) but I can order on their website and their food is worth the wait. They have a coupon for free paratha on the website.

I ordered delivery from Kultural Kuisine via (online ordering is also available via their website). My boyfriend and I were craving curry goat and decided to research the options for Indian food delivery in the area. I’m pretty happy to have stumbled upon Kultural Kuisine. The entrees were relatively cheap at about $ 7.99 each. There was an $ 18 delivery minimum, a bit steep for the area, but there was no additional charge for delivery. The food arrived in a timely manner(approximately 25 minutes). My boyfriend and I ordered the Tandoori Chicken, Naan, the Dhaba Lamb Curry and the Lamb Jhalfarzeri. The Tandoori Chicken was flavorful, but very dry. We had to put that to the side and ultimately throw it out, because it was unbearably dry. The rest of the entrees, however, were absolutely delicious. The Dhaba Lamb Curry was swimming in delicious spicy broth. The Lamb Jhalfarzeri was more of a thick paste, but loaded with fresh vegetables, including zucchini, carrots, onions, and peppers. The rice was aromatic and nicely cooked. The naan was soft and an excellent texture overall. Unfortunately, the texture of the lamb in both the entrees was inconsistent. Some pieces were dry and others(usually, the more fatty pieces) were tender. The portions were a bit on the small side. There were probably 6 – 8 medium-size chunks of lamb in each serving, but at $ 7.99/each, this was totally acceptable. Besides the dryness of the Tandoori Chicken, and the inconsistent texture of the lamb, my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our delivery from Kultural Kuisine. I’ll definitely be ordering again sometime in the near future.
