History

Established in 1959.

Our purpose is to «Improve the human condition by making sure that each life we touch maintains the dignity, belonging, independence and hope we all deserve» because we believe that caring for people at home with compassion improves their lives and is a noble and worthwhile endeavor.

Visiting Homemaker Service was incorporated in the State of New Jersey in 1959 as a private, non-​profit, voluntary organization under the guidance of a Board of Trustees. Since that time homemaker-​home health aide care, nursing supervision, and social services have been provided to a wide range of clients, which represent all age groups, diverse cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and economic levels. Visiting Homemaker Service is committed to extraordinary care and networking within the community to enable the development of strong provider relationships as a means of assuring the residents of Hudson County access to a broad spectrum of high quality health and social services.
