Beware if you know nothing about cars or are a woman.
Went in to have them tell me what they could do for my car’s smoking exhaust after I failed inspection. Paid $ 80 to have them tell me it could, maybe, be the valve seals, and that it would cost $ 600+ to replace them. Then, they would test drive it again and if it smoked still they’d have to rebuild the engine.
Any shop that isn’t trying to rip you off would FIRST suggest a compression test, then a leakdown test if needed BEFORE even going into the engine. I usually go to Epic in the same neighborhood for diagnostics but came to this place since they also handle inspections. Big mistake, I’m never going back to this place again.

Just brilliant. Gino and Gino Jr. Efficient. Honest and hard working. Saw them handle some awkward customers with the utmost patience and professionalism. Will be back. Super.

Went there for the first time after being referred there by AAA. Very friendly guys, very nice waiting room (I’ve seen some terrible ones throughout the years), and quick service. I recommend it to anyone living in JC.
Also I was impressed with their knowledge of my Prius. Most non-​Toyota dealership places Ive gone to don’t have parts and eve. struggle with resetting the oil change indicator. These guys had no problem! I will definitely be back!

Brought my car in for an oil change at 1pm, and asked them to look into the tire sensor warning light. Gino says it’ll take 3.5 hrs (??), but they’ll call when it’s ready.
I call at 4pm, and told all’s done (so no phone call, thx). But the mechanic didn’t even check the sensor (which was written on the work-​order)! And THEN he tells the owner it’s not on! Gino Jr finally gets involved now that I’ve repeated myself enough times. He checks the tires himself, and says I need 2 new sensors, but it’s too late now to change them!
Spent $ 375 on an oil and filters change, which I’ll assume they did right, but that’s the last penny they’re getting.

These guys are solid. No nonsense and straightforward. I’ve been there a few times for different thing and every time they have been fair with pricing and always deliver friendly service. Family owned and operated, they will make things right. Will def go back.

I bought a set of tires from Tirerack, and these guys were on the list of recommended installers. The actual install went fine; The guys in the shop are nice and the place seems clean but what happened next is infuriating.
The tires they removed had less than a 1000 miles on them. They were practically new but I needed all season tires to get me through the winter. I had them bag up my tires and would return with another car to pick them up. Gino assured me that they will be safe, even offered me seasonal storage.
I came back but they had already closed for the day (Saturday). I called them on Monday morning to tell them that I stopped by but they closed and the soonest I could return would be later in the week. «No problem» they said. I show up Thursday morning and they had a very difficult time finding them. 20 minutes later, a shop employee comes out and starts putting tires in my trunk. I look at the tires and immediately notice they aren’t correct. He goes in the back and the older owner says that he can’t find my tires but can have these at no charge (mismatched, worn out tires). No charge? I remind him that I had brand new Continental ContiSport Contact 3’s that came from the factory on my M3 that cost $ 1,900 new.
He said that another M3 owner came to pick those up and thought they belonged to him. Really? It sounds more like you sold my tires, made a few bucks and tried pulling a fast one on your customers. I will keep this review up to warn other customer from going to this shop until they respond to my multiple calls and correct this theft.

Excellent service, excellent place. I found West Side through Tire Rack– they are a recommended installer, and for good reason. Very friendly, very up front– not just to me, but to everybody I saw enter the shop while I was waiting for my work to be done. Great experience. I will be back.

Fixed my tire and replaced my radiator. Good professional service.

One word describes them, AMAZING!
My tire blew out at 4:00 AM, I needed to go to work the next day. I google searched and found West Side Tire and I am so lucky! I called at 8:00 AM. they had me in their shop by 8:15 — 8:20 and I was back on the road at (;00 AM.
The owner was wonderful, the place was clean, and I am glad that I found them. I need to get new tires soon and I will definitely go back to them. :)

Been coming here for over 5 years. Always deal with Gino or Gino Jr. Service is fast and empathetic. These guys know their cars and you can understand that once you start talking to them. I have trusted them with all my out of warranty or regular maintenance issues. Keep up the good job.

I’m usually skeptical of online reviews, but the reviews of West Side on
were spot on. It’s a small place, but Gino, the owner, deals with you directly. He is very courteous and straight forward. When ever I have called a mechanic, the person who answers the phone is often a bit of a jerk. I was honestly quite shocked at how courteous Gino was over the initial phone call. He was very professional and his professional attitude carried over to the rest of the process.
My installation took a little longer than expected, but nothing ridiculous. (30 additional min. Completely reasonable considering what I have dealt with in the past with other mechanics.) The car and tires seem fine. I would definitely recommend this place. Parking is awkward, but not a huge problem.
One side note: When it comes to coupons, most places are pretty strict on you having to present the coupon exactly as the terms of the coupon require. I had a 20% off of a wheel alignment coupon that Tire Rack gave me after I had picked West Side as my installer. Unfortunately, I was in meetings before my appointment at West Side, and had forgotten to print out the coupon. When I mentioned this to Gino, he was still willing to offer the discount. I was quite surprised. Most places would have told me to go f*ck myself. This isn’t to say you can come in and talk about some fake coupon you made up and expect to get a discount. I referred to a valid coupon that actually existed and Gino was willing to honor it. In my opinion, that’s pretty classy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place.

This is my second time bringing my car to this automotive shop since I have been living in Jersey City, NJ. This small business is nothing short of a place that care about their customers and the vehicles in which they doctor on. Both Big n Lil Geno explains the problem, and try to help find a solution if its not something they can handle personally. For example, I have been looking to replace my rims with factory rims, Geno (son), did research, and attempted to connect me with someone who could sell me factory rims at a descent price. While we were unsuccessful he really didnt have to do this. Big Geno also outsourced an auto-​body shop in close proximity to my home for me to check out since I am interested in getting some body work done at a reasonable cost! The very first time I went to the shop, I went during a time when most of the mechanics were out to lunch, however, I was driving on a slow leak, they asked me to come back after lunch, but made sure they filled my tire up with air before leaving. Its always the little things that makes customers happy. While I am not happy to spend thousands of dollars on my vehicle, it is much more expensive to take it to the inifiniti dealership versus going to someone that will do just as good of a job if not better.
I did not give five stars simply because they were able to get around to another issue I was having due to the time the parts arrived to fix the other problems, but it was not presssing. Not that I am wishing anything bad on my car, this will be my choice of auto repair as long as I live in NJ! Tell them the guy with the silver Infiniti FX 45 sent you!
