The historic Mauch Chunk Ballroom is Northeast Pennsylvania’s premier event space located in the heart Jim Thorpe’s historic district. We are conveniently located near the Lehigh Valley, The Poconos and the Scranton area. Formerly the sanctuary of a 19^th-​century Victorian church, the Ballroom has been meticulously restored with all its period details intact.

With its pristine hardwood floor, ornate moldings, decorative paint, and cavernous climate-​controlled space, the Mauch Chunk Ballroom is the perfect event space for your wedding reception, corporate meeting, family reunion, theatre performance, or birthday party.

The Ballroom is a full service facility that offers amazing cuisine from the popular and well respected local restaurant, The Broadway Grill & Pub. We have basic to all inclusive packages that includes everything from open liquor bar packages to hotel accommodations (for the couple), wedding cake, flowers & up lighting. It can be configured to fit your event needs, whether it’s a large, sit-​down wedding reception, or small private meeting. It is located in the heart of the historic downtown district within walking distance to all with access to an exclusive Parking Lot for your guests.

Business Owner

Originally from Long Island, NY Tara found, fell in love with and moved to Jim Thorpe in October 2008. She quickly became very involved in the local community and joined the board of the Mauch Chunk Historical Society (2009 – 2011). Through her involvement in the community, she helped organize and market many not-​for-​profit events like the First Annual Jim Thorpe Burlesque Festival and the Victorian Heritage Festival. Within those experiences she discovered her talent and love for organizing and marketing events, both large and small, and Jim Thorpe Weddings & Events was born.

In 2011 Tara teamed up with John Drury, owner and curator of the Mauch Chunk Museum to make the Mauch Chunk Ballroom a full service event facility providing wedding, and corporate and event coordination and staffing services. Jim Thorpe Weddings and Events became the managing entity of the beautiful ballroom space.
