MorningStar Dance Academy of Atlanta (MSDA) offers the highest quality training in classical ballet, pointe, contemporary, and character dance. The school’s teaching methods offer students an age appropriate, challenging, and enjoyable program that combines personal enrichment with technical preparation for professional work.
Students of MSDA are offered many performance opportunities throughout the year. They participate frequently in local community activities such as multi-cultural festivals and celebrations, and are also provided many opportunities to perform.
MSDA’s students have numerous achievements in prestigious ballet competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix, American Ballet Competition, World Ballet Competition, and Beijing International Ballet Competition. In 2015, they were invited to perform at YAGP’s NYC Gala in Lincoln Center. MSDA students have also been awarded numerous scholarships to professional programs in the USA and abroad.

Business Owner
Xiao Chen has played various roles in well over a hundred ballet performances. A graduate of Beijing Dance Institute, he has toured more than 50 countries and was invited repeatedly as a guest dancer by international ballet troupes. In 1991, he received the Special Award for Best Individual Performance at the World Ballet Competition (WBC) in Osaka, Japan. As a leading dancer, he served two of the most renowned Chinese ballet companies: National Ballet of China and Shanghai Ballet. From 1992 to 2003, he was a principal dancer with the Atlanta Ballet (Atlanta, Georgia). He was invited to dance at the World Ballet Top Performers Event in Seoul, South Korea in 2002. In 2004, he founded MorningStar Dance Academy of Atlanta (MSDA).
