Best in Johns Creek. Great wine selection, Excellent pasta — or anything you order; great desserts(especially the Tiramisu) and one of the few places serving Illy Coffee. Make reservations — especially on weekends(email response is quick) or prepare to wait(worth it though).,

Excellent little authentic Italian restaurant! My wife and I popped in here on a whim. The staff is very friendly and the food was excellent! Highly recommend the lasagna! I’m looking forward to going back and trying more on the menu for sure! My wife had the ravioli special, it’s was delicious as well! Definitely want to make reservations though on a weekend, the place is quaint, we got lucky when we came on a Friday night around 6pm.

One of my new favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Nothing beat fresh hand made pasta! Rosa Mia only open for a few hours each day(only lunch and dinner) so make sure you come ealry or call for a reservation because this place gets packed and seating space is rather limited at times. It probably sits about 30 – 40 people respectively. The décor is very homely and traditional in terms of nice and warm feeling. The menu isn’t the biggest but you really can’t go wrong with any of the dishes they have to offer. We’re talking about pizza, pasta, salads, and a few sides. Not to mention their wine menu as well which I have yet to experience. The food here is spectacular. You can definitely tell that each meal is prepared fresh. The pasta taste like it was only made recently and you taste it. Each dish gives you the option to add your choice of meat or non meat for vegetarians. No matter what though you get tons of flavor and authenticity with your meals here. It’s one of the best pasta I have had in a while and when I compare it to the competition in the area it ranks highly. Overall, Rosa Mia should be on the radar for those in the Johns Creek area who are looking for a good Italian experience without having to venture to close to the city. This is definitely an OTP hotspot for Italian food and I highly recommend it. Give it shot or bookmark for later, trust me you won’t regret it. My Recommendations: –Pesto Farfalle

Great food and great service. The round loaf of bread, however, is a throw-away. They should stick to the focaccia. The veal parm and the sole were excellent, as was the apple strudel. Will be returning.

The best most authentic Italian food in town. House-hand made Gnocchi and cavatelli cannot be beat! The meatballs are to die for and oh the best pizza!!! It’s our favorite! But you better make reservations because the are always packed.

First time and definitely not the last. Cozy atmosphere and very friendly. Nicole was attentive, knew the features knew the menu gave great description. Food was freshly prepared and we weren’t rushed in between courses. Plan on making this a regular place!

As a visitor from New Orleans celebrating my birthday here with friends, my girlfriend took me here for lunch. She raved about the gnocchi,& boy, was she right !!! It was deliciously decadent; the white sauce with pancetta was so good, I could’ve eaten just that. The gnocchi was the great reward– light, fluffy pillows of potatoes that, with the white sauce, exploded with flavor in my mouth. So good !!! They give you a side salad with the FRESHEST greens& an olive oil & white balsamic dressing. Yum ! I assure you when I come back to Atlanta to visit, this will most DEFINATELY be a place I come back to.

Really good tasting food but ridiculously overpriced. So went there for lunch and I asked for penne pasta, and then asked the waiter of he could add mushrooms and some spinach to it. At that point the waiter didn’t caution me about the ridiculously priced vegetables in their restaurant. When they bill came out they had charged me $ 7 for handful of mushrooms and spinach. Again it tasted good, but I would never pay $ 18 for lunch portion of pasta. Disappointed.

/TL;DR This is one of the most legit places to get lasagna in John’s Creek. Kidding! This place is pretty bomb for Italian food but really is more your usual fare. The only real departure into the semi-exotic would be the ceviche. What they have, they do well. /ATMOSPHERE The only thing missing was the accordion music. It’s nothing that you’d expect from a strip mall restaurant — yet everything you would expect from one. It’s got al fresco(kind of) seating which is unexpected. It’s not huge inside but definitely large enough to serve parties. /FOOD We started off with some onion roll bread which was a little odd for an Italian place. Still tasted good though. I really wanted it paired with a beef’n cheddar from Arby’s though. We had a round of pretty delicious flatbread pizza to share and jumped into the main course. I had something called the Hand Cut Pappardelle«Showcases RosaMia» with three meatballs cuz why not? I figured if I’m going to give a proper review, I was going to try their main star. Most excellent. We paired everything with wine. The real star was the Malbec. I wish I had bothered to get the name of it. It was terrific. If the food wasn’t that good — well, I would have forgotten anyway. All their wines are served with aerators attached to the bottles. No real decantors. Saw some beer and wine but nothing special for distilled spirits. /SERVICE I think the best way to comment about their service is to say it was like being with family. They were super down to earth and very friendly. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

I tried Seared Sole Panini and for the price the quantity was good. The quality was also great, as i experienced the perfect blend of ingredients which went well all together. Micro size salad offered was really good too. I would recommend ordering salad and soup instead of getting 2 slices of panini. At the end of the second one i was feeling greasy stuff going in as the fish fillet is deep fried. Stick with one and rejoice the flavours. I will come back again to try other dishes.

I do not understand all of these great reviews, this place is a tiny little train wreck. You walk in and there is a loud band inches from your face, incidentally the hostess stand is right beside the band. So you have to stand there and yell to the hostess before she seats you at a table so tiny you wonder how there will be room for 2 plates. Then they bring you their version of breadsticks. These are not the breadsticks you expect, they are long, hard cracker-like tubes with no seasoning. This is all while people, servers, everyone is bumping into your table because there’s just no room to walk in this place. The breadsticks are just a warning about the food. Tiny, tiny portions(and I’m 5′, 100 pounds) not enough to satisfy any appetite. The flavor and quality of the food is poor. Service is poor, management is rude. This was a mistake and will not happen again.

Terrible! Service was good but the food was slop. Chicken Marsala was terrible and the veal parm was not good either. Tight sitting space. Cluttery and disorganized

The antipasto is excellent! Veal piccata is also excellent! The homemade pasta is very good. Eggplant parmigiana and the lasagna are excellent, too. The bolognese sauce was a little bland, so was sausage. Otherwise, the environment is pretty good. Only the service is a little slow, we also waited a long time for the table.

LOVEDLOVEDLOVED this place!!:) Anti pasta for 2, caprese, gnocchi, hand cut pasta«rosa» special… The Montepulchiano D’Abruzzo was EXACTLY like the table wines our family serves in Italy! Only drawback was deserts, and not knowing how to serve expresso.

It doesn’t matter if you take-out or dine in, RosaMia is fantastic! Eggplant parm, lasagna, or plain olé spaghetti and meatballs. its all delicious. The venue itself is small. Reservations are highly recommended, but if this is a last minute craving they will be more than accommodating and make room for you. Saving yourself some time, you can call ahead and swing by the drive-thru. Pricing isnt anything out of the ordinary for a good Italian meal. My wife and I ate well for under $ 40 — including left overs. I also had my daughters first communion brunch here. Same great service. Same great food. You want a good meal, you have come to the right place!

I’ve been here once before with my family probably about 4 years ago, on the pleas of my teenage daughter who said it was«AHMAZING». I vaguely remembered being unimpressed at the time. I seem to recall a tiny(I mean TINY) place with slow service and ok food. But you know how teenagers are. They haven’t yet experienced really good food. But, I decided to try again tonight to see if maybe I remembered wrong. I called ahead ordered pizza to go. The place was indeed tiny– no place to wait for my pizza except in the way of the waitstaff, practically in the middle of the dining area. Service was harried(it was a Friday early evening), and when I got home 10 minutes later my pizza was ice cold, and not very good to boot! Interestingly, their pizza sizes aren’t the typical small, medium, large. It’s either half or whole, and square(no crust either) which made ordering somewhat confusing. Bottom line: it ain’t a pizza joint

This continues to be a good home made Italian restaurant. I do believe the portions are shrinking. As always everything tasted good and was fresh

WHY? WHY? WHY? Absolutely tragic! Why of all days do I decide to try out this restaurant?. It is my birthday and I will forever remember this day. Someone might say,“Ah get over it, just go out and find a good Italian meal and get over it”. That is not going to happen. I AMDONE! Let me just say this, my favorite Italian restaurant is Pietro’s in Grand Rapid’s Michigan. For more than 20 plus years I have not dared to eat anywhere else. It is the standard by which all Italian restaurants are measured. It has been only within the last 6 months that I even dared to eat at another Italian restaurant. This was the second time, and it was a terrible mistake. I chose this restaurant because of the reviews and because it is a part of the neighborhood landscape. My husband and I pass by frequently and have always wondered about its offerings. Today we arrive for lunch around noon. It is small and interesting. What I might imagine you would see in a typical East Coast(NY/PA), neighborhood joint. Very casual although it had cloth napkins and white tablecloths,(Sort of that«pearls on a pig» vibe). This is not a restaurant to take a date. If you are curious, please go alone. We start with a beautiful plate of fresh greens which are drenched in dressing. Had I expected the salad, I would have requested the dressing on the side as usual. We both decide to order the Chicken Petronella. The first bad sign, a lemon wedge on my plate,(not okay), and it just goes down hill from there. This is a very pungent,(taste only), dish. It has way too much going on from the artichokes, to the wine(?), lemon and capers. I tried but I just couldn’t eat it because it was very one note and unbalanced. I request a white sauce. The waitress goes out of her way to accommodate my requests. She was the bright spot in this otherwise tragic situation. I am delivered a fresh plate of pasta with this heavy super bland Béchamel sauce. The cook couldn’t even be bothered to season the sauce or add a little salt. I request fresh cheese just to be able to «deal». Here is the problem as I imagine it. The person who prepared this meal is really the delivery guy, John. He showed up just as the real chef was going into cardiac arrest and since no one else volunteered, he was thrown into the kitchen and told to «work it out» Well, he did the best he could but it just wasn’t good enough. The problem is that John does not have basic cooking knowledge and doesn’t believe in seasoning the food. He relies on the sauces and toppings to add flavor. When I cook a meal, I prepare it in such a way that every element is well seasoned and able to stand on its on, chicken, veggies, pasta and sauce, all seasoned separately and together, so that the flavors are layered through out and you get a very balanced and well seasoned dish. The basic elements of John’s dish were very bland while the sauce and extras overwhelmed the dish. John, you must season every element of the dish because no matter how much toxic sauce you add, bland will always shine through and upstage the dish. Next time, just call me and I will walk you through it. My husband,(who generally eats anything), gave the dish a one and said that he would not return. I am in agreement. When the basic elements are not there, you have a TOTALANDCOMPLETE fail. Nothing about this restaurant says Italian,(at least not today). Allow me to refer you to Pietro’s in Grand Rapids, MI for the best Italian meal I have ever eaten. Yes, it is worth the trip. Sorry John, You’re Fired! EPILOGUE: To my poor husband who spent the entire meal worried about me. I love you Honey and I’m okay!

So last night we went to RosaMia for my brother-in-law’s birthday. My first and last time there. Our server was very sweet but that was the best part of the night. After we sat down and our drink orders were taken and we were brought onion hamburger rolls with what appeared to be grated Parmesan on top which immediately fell off when you picked it up. The roll was okay but not really appropriate for an Italian restaurant. It was really just a store bought hamburger bun with some olive oil. Right there I knew I was in trouble. So I ordered an appetizer of the onion Focaccia and tomato bisque. The bread which took about 30 mins to come to the table was okay but the onions were just laid on top. There were two other Focaccias on the menu so I’m guessing that they just laid the toppings on them as well. To me a Focaccia has the ingredients in the bread.(Buckhead Bread Co knows how to rock a Focaccia)! And the the tomato bisque wasn’t very flavorful. Added to the fact that they serve it to you in a small beer glass makes eating it a little difficult. My entrée, cavatelli with sausage and broccoli, was even more disappointing. The pasta which didn’t really taste like or resemble cavatelli was undercooked. The sausage tasted like they took Jimmy Dean and crumbled it up into the sauce, which would have been okay if it was a good tomato sauce. But it was just beef broth with hardly any flavor. And I only got four small florets in the dish. They were overlooked and mushy. But my wife’s meal was even worse. Chicken parm with boiled chicken that was tough and rubbery and gravy with no flavor or seasonings to speak of. The cheese on top wasn’t even melted all the way. The chicken wasn’t cut thin or pounded out like a cutlet and the breeding was soft and mushy. And there was no traces of garlic in her sauce, or anything else we ate, for that matter. She barely ate any of her meal. Many other table were seated after us and got their entrees before we even had our appetizers. And our soda glasses sat empty most of the night. As I sat and watched the kitchen I could see a lot of chaos in the wait staff. There wasn’t much team effort and it looked as if they were all struggling to keep everything straight. I hate giving poor ratings to any restaurant but this was truly awful. As a northerner and Italian I have high expectation for Italian restaurants. But RosaMia sets the bar extremely low especially for their prices.

I was having a serious craving for tomato sauce and cheese aka anything parmesan. Having just moved to Alpharetta we decided to go out and try someplace new. We settled on RosaMia and headed out. We had no idea what we were in for! First, you really need to make a reservation if you want to eat in, we got thereat 7:45 to find a packed, and I mean PACKED house. Thankfully they gave us a return time of 8:15 and after looking at the food on some of the tables we decided it was worth the wait. Secondly, the food is fantastic! We expected it to be good from the reviews, but the food overall was delicious and fresh. Here’s what we ordered: Caprese Salad: Very fresh with good quality oil and vinegar. Eggplant Parmesan: Fantastic, I mean absolutely fantastic dish. The eggplant is sliced super thinly and layered with cheese and tomato sauce then baked in the oven. The overall effect is that it just melts into a delicious unit of awesome. This dish is huge though, so I’d recommend sharing it. Chicken Parmesan: A great rendition of this classic dish. Their sauce is thick and rich and the chicken tender. Many times the sauce on chicken parmesan is runny/watery and the chicken is overcooked and hard. This is not the case here at all! Another large dish which could easily be shared. Finally, the service is awesome. The waiters were attentive yet un-intrusive and the owner was friendly. Overall, we had a great experience and can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes.
