Then you are in the right place.

Everyone can dance and everyone should dance. Dance meets a basic human need to express one’s inner creative energies and indulge in the moment. It’s the spark that lights up your soul, the fire that keeps you burning and renews your energy. Dance training is not necessary – It’s you and the music.

Baila ConmiGA invites you to dance. To live dance, to love dance, whether you’re a Latin-​themed fundraising gala needing some dancers to get the party started or a couple wanting to prepare a non-​traditional, sensual first dance for your wedding.

Maybe you’re struggling with your body image and want to learn to be your favorite, hottest dance partner. Or you’re needing a way to release the tension of answering incessant emails and phone calls.

Baila ConmiGA is here to dance with you with compassion, positivity, a warm-​heart, and attention to detail. We offer group lessons for adults, Mommy-​And-​Me classes, performance opportunities, special events, and private lessons. Come dance!

History

Established in 2014.

Owner and founder Georgia Schrubbe has known all of her life that dance is not optional– it’s part of a healthy and happy lifestyle. She noticed that women and men all over Charleston were intrigued by the idea of Latin dance, but lacking the confidence to actually do it. She started Baila ConmiGA to combat those lies that people tell themselves– «I can’t dance, I have no rhythm, I have two left feet.»

Since its inception in December 2014, Baila ConmiGA has helped dozens of people in the Charleston area get their groove on and live the «Dance Is Not Optional» lifestyle.

Business Owner

I’m a ballerina gone wild! I have sixteen-​plus years of dance experience under my belt, including training at San Francisco Ballet School and the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, performing professionally in the Charleston area, and teaching multiple dance modalities since 2009. I don’t know where my love of Latin dance comes from… maybe it was listening to Gloria Estefan and Santana during Saturday morning chores, or maybe just because Latin music and dance is addicting. I started Salsa dancing in 2010 and fell in love with it, traveling to other cities, states, and countries to follow my passion.

Baila ConmiGA is my play on «baila conmigo,» which is Spanish for «dance with me.» I believe we all (should) embark on a dance journey at some point in our lives and I invite you to begin or continue yours with me!
