History

Established in 1978.

Founded in 1978 on current property, as Brownswood Road Nursery by Cecil Williams and his daughter Terre Stevens. Mr. Williams began his passion for growing and selling plants behind his home on Folly Road, on James Island. He started with Azaleas and other flowering shrubs. Word spread quickly of the quality and value of his plants at Williams Nursery. He wanted to offer more to Charleston residents and his daughter Terre joined him in this Horticultural pursuit and after a lengthy search for more room to grow more plants and offer more varieties they found the property on Brownswood Road on Johns Island. Fast forward to 2006, 28 years later and Grandson Ryan Watkins enters the business. Starting at the bottom and quickly learning all the key areas of the business was promoted to General Manager to help lead the nursery under his mother Terre.
