Specialties
Traditional pub and Irish fare including the best Reuben you have ever had. I also never tire of hearing how good our Shepherd’s Pie is.
Twelve beers on tap with at least one always being a local brewery… currently Galaxy Andromeda IPA.
Formerly the old Poncho’s Pit location but completely gutted (also cleaned and sanitized).
We have a large bar with 17 bars stools, 7 upright pub tables and twelve booths so there is plenty of seating. We’ve tried to make it as comfortable to have a drink here as it was in Dick and Janet Hanifin’s kitchen and we’ve almost gotten there.
We often have music from the likes of The Shambles, Donal O’Shaughnessey and Brothers and we always have a good time.
Our crowd is a little more mature (generally 30 years old and above) and we are very proud that we are coming up on our two year anniversary and we have never had a fight.
Our Specialty? A comfortable place to meet friends, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat while knowing we appreciate you coming in each and every time.
History
Established in 2014.
We opened March 7, 2014 in the old Poncho’s Pit location on Riverside Drive, Johnson City. It is halfway between the JC Traffic Circle and Lourdes Hospital.
We are owned by a father/son team of Kevin Telfer and Kevin Telfer Jr (hence Irish Kevins… no apostrophe as it is plural).
As of a year later we are still constantly getting people in that say, in essence, «I haven’t been in because I was afraid the place was dirty and greasy like Poncho’s but this place is beautiful.» We are very proud of that and business has steadily grown because so many people have become repeat customers. That is truly humbling.
We wanted to become a family business so the construction was done by brothers, nephews, cousins. The staff is heavily family and just like any family there are that many opinions on how the business should be conducted. The vision of a pub that put out a few wings and burgers has evolved into a full blown restaurant with some of the best food in town.

Business Owner
Kevin Telfer Sr and Jr started an Irish Pub built around the best Reuben sandwich you have ever had. It is almost as comfortable having a meal and drinks here as it was in Dick and Janet Hanifin’s kitchen. Located in the location of the old Poncho’s Pit it is completely redone, clean, comfortable and affordable. We will love having you come and visit.
