Food is good but whoever the ass clown is who sits behind the bar and plays YouTube music videos of shitty music needs to stop.

really wanted o try this place but after waiting in our booth for a long time with no waitress coming by for a drink or food order we just left and went somewhere else. the waitress’ just totally ignored us and if that’s how they treat their customers we wouldn’t want to eat there.

You can’t beat $ 4 dozens of wings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Wednesdays are great too with trivia and goldfish races. Quite a crowd for a Wednesday as the fish races don’t start until later in the night, but always seems to be rather busy for a weekday night. Wings are pretty good, especially for $ 4. It’s great having all of the tv’s they do, and always seems to be a lively atmosphere.

Would not recommend this place, have to go to the bar to order, service is SUPERSLOW, waited almost ten minutes for 2 sodas, upwards of an hour’s of 5 dozens of wings while it seemed like an avg crowd, the wings were actually decent but the whole time had to listen to a group taking MUCH louder than they need to from the end to end of the establishment, we were not checked up on to make sure food was to what was expected, without a doubt am not in any hurry to make a return trip

Can’t say much about the food although the pizza is pretty decent(they use american cheese), but wednesdays here are AWESOME because they have trivia and goldfish racing! I’m a big fan of trivia and Oasis actually has some interesting, challenging questions — even if you get them wrong just take a shot for some extra points :) come with a group and bring your smarts, its a fun time.

I’ve been to the Oasis many times, manly because it’s in walking distance to my residence. I’ve had very mixed visits. On particularly busy nights like a Friday or Saturday night, the bar tending service is painfully slow. I’ve had to wait almost ten minutes before for a can of beer. I blame this more on the fact they were understaffed than the actual bar tender. The food is good, I have no complaints about that area. It is always hot and comes out fresh. Pizza is good and the wings are excellent. The music is usually too loud and generally doesn’t fit the atmosphere(I.E everyone is sitting watching the TVs and they are playing dance music). As far as the owner goes, that’s where my biggest complaint would be. He insist on playing YouTube videos from his laptop to the TVs. Why you would do that is beyond me, it looks trashy and I could care less about watching a YouTube music video. It’s almost laughable how much he enjoys it(I’ve seen it happen every night he has been there that I have). I have even had him change a sports event to his laptop screen on the TV. When a couple of us customers complained, he pouted, turned the TV to what us paying customers wanted and said«There! Big fucking deal.». Very unprofessional. He also owns the Harry L Pub so it’s tough to escape him. All in all, just be ready for the slow service and the immature owner who isn’t about the customer first experience.

I had the Garlic Wings, the wings were nice size perfectly cooked and the sauce was good, but the garlic part was them simply dumping minced uncooked garlic over them, juice and all! I love garlic but WOW that was garlic! But the rest was good and the atmosphere is your topical small CLEAN bar. I liked it was clean for a old bar…

The home of the«famous» Hot Pie since 1918, The Oasis on Harry L Dr. in Johnson City is one of the area’s oldest dining establishments. Not much to look at from the outside, the inside is a nice little space with the bar(complete with giant fish tank) off to the right and some tables and booths up the stairs by the kitchen. I did not care for the blaring music(about four volume levels higher than I would’ve preferred) which was playing while I was there. I got the ever-famous Hot Pie. Weirdest pizza I’ve ever had. Had to be cheddar cheese instead of the usual mozzarella. The crust was soft and bready and had an off-putting taste I didn’t really like. Now, had I been drunk at the time… I might be telling a different story. But hey, they’ve been in business for 92 years. For a local dive bar that’s a pretty solid run. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back myself, but I think there’s a lot of folks who would really like it there, so I’d imagine come 2102, another 92 years from now, they’ll still be cranking out the Hot Pie like they’ve been doing since Woodrow Wilson occupied the White House.
