I was in a bind during a long haul drive back in April when my vehicle sustained some body damage (dislodged wheel well cover) before I arrived to Joliet, IL for my overnight stop. I spent the evening of my arrival calling local dealerships trying to price the fix and appointment availability. I was not able to find an appointment that would give me the ability to maintain my trip schedule so opted to try AD based on Unilocal reviews.
I arrived first thing the next morning and met with the owner. He advised because it was a body issue he may not be able to fix it but was willing to take a look. He took my car in immediately and had a technician review the damage. He indicated he could provide a fix that would get me more than safely to my destination with no further issue. He advised the technician on the repair which was completed within minutes.
The owner completed the repair and insisted on no payment from me. I was literally in tears and humbled by his act of kindness and generosity. He alleviated my fears and ensured I arrived to my destination safely. Thank you AD for your help in fixing my vehicle and generous kindness.

Love this place! They are so honest, fast, and reasonably priced. They explain everything that’s wrong with your car & how/​why it needs to be fixed. I always get my oil changes done here for $ 25 which certainly beats the $ 40 oil changes at Jiffy Lube. I will not take my car anywhere else!

I have had these guys work on my car twice, they are fast, reasonable, and HONEST! In both cases they understood that not everyone can overpay on a repair to keep an older car running. They went over the options I had, and got the car in tip-​top condition in a day. I will send everyone I know to these guys.

Let me start by saying, Chris the owner, is the most Honest, Respectful, and all around great guy. He will tell you exactly what’s wrong, and what «needs» to be fixed. The prices are SUPER fair, and the work is #1! If you have ANY issues with your car, trust me this is the place to go!!! This place is fantastic I would recommend it to anyone who is having car trouble in Joliet! I was making a trip but I had to stop in at Joliet because my car starting shaking and I could barely get over 40mph. I looked at the reviews and called a couple mechanics to see if they good look at it this late in the day. Sure enough I call these guys and they got me in right away and had the problem with minutes. A spark plug was miss firing and a gasket was leaking. This was around 4:30 and there were able to fix it by 5:45! Amazing guys work there A+++++++++

What a good feeling to know you have a mechanic you can actually trust!
I sent my son there with his PT Cruiser on the recommendation of a friend. He got outstanding service. The repair was actually a little LESS than the quote, and he was told what he needed repaired but could hold off on for a while for his budget.
I have talked to him about my VW. We were impressed by his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for VWs in general.
I just called him to set up an evaluation for it, should I replace or repair? When I told him I had a quote from the dealership, he started laughing. He got where I was coming from immediately. I am bringing it in next week because he’s too busy this week, and I can see why!

They were fast, honest, and half the price of other shops. The service was personalized, which is especially nice when the customer is already frustrated because of their car.

Alex and company are just so incredible. They tell you what is wrong with your car and do not try to bilk you out of money. I have been coming here for years And I have never had a problem. The mechanics here are a great group of guys that are honest as the dAy is long. I will never go anywhere Else. Last time I was here my check engine light came on. I took it here And Alex checked it out for me. Turns out the light was on because I didn’t tighten my gas cap. Cost me nothing. Admittedly, that was a little embarrassing but I’m so glad i took it here.

Theses guys are great and above all they are honest!!! They know what they are doing, they are not just «part changers».

These peole are honest and really know their stuff. I found my machanic and will never go to anyone else as long as they are here. I highly recomend them.

What a relief — and answer to prayer — to find this business! My wife was driving to Detroit, alone with our 15-​month-​old daughter, to visit family. Near Joliet the car started to overheat; she called me, I did a quick search on Unilocal and came across these guys. My wife gave them a call — they said come right over and they would help her immediately. That’s just what they did — found the problem (fins on radiator had bent), fixed it for a very reasonable price and far more quickly than they had originally thought, and sent her on her way. This is one of those scenarios that often are nightmares; repair shops taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation, parts that take days to arrive, mechanics pushing repairs that aren’t needed, etc. Fortunately for us it couldn’t have turned out better. I would give this place 10 stars if I could; highly, highly recommended!

I LOVE THESE GUYS! I’ve been going to Auto Doc for 8 yrs, I have an 2001 Mitsubishi Galiant with almost 200,000 miles on it. These guys are the only reason it still runs and that I can depend on it! They are honest and reasonable.
I seriously doubt that you’re going to find a better garage!
Stop looking~just call them!!!

Had my drum brakes done for these guys for $ 80 (both sides). I had my own new drums, shoes, and hardware kit. They used those upon request. The work the did was great. Price was good too. For a little known shop, it does well.

A good mechanic is hard to find, but boy am I glad to have been referred to this place. They are very reasonable, and reliable mechanics here. I have been here twice with issues on my vehicle, and they helped me out. I got a new AC compressor, and a tuneup here. My service engine light came on, and I freaked out as usual. I just needed wires changed. I appreciate the honesty of these mechanics. Many will try to rip you off. Check em out!
