Haunted Trails Family Amusement Park & Company Picnics

I’ve been a customer for years, but I took my kids there two weeks ago just to find out that now you only get 3 tokens for a dollar instead of 4. Goodbye, not coming back. Only place that does that.

A very fun place-​my family and I have visited on Fathers Day three of the last four years. The indoor arcade/​rides are fun-​overpriced, but still fun. Most if the games worked fine and the ticket prizes are actually decent.
The food-​ok and a bit overpriced too. The outside is pretty cool — three different go kart tracks and they are well maintained. The mini golf is great –cool holes with a good deal of «spooky» things on each hole.
It isn’t a big hike for us –we live in Will county but I can see it being a long drive for Chicagoans. Overall, I like the joint and it sures hell beats Odyssey Fun World and many other fun centers.

I got a Groupon deal to this place. I bought it for when my siblings were in town. They really had a blast. The place has so much to do for the kids and the it was a good deal. I will recommended Going earlier in the day because it get crowded as the day went by. The only thing is that is so far from the city of Chicago.

The go karts track is extremely small. It is not worth it in my opinion. Miniature golf has 18 holes @ $ 6.25 per adult & $ 5.00 per kid for 1 game. The arcade is small, but the kids seemed to like it anyways. Food is not cheap, or appetizing. They do offer free water though.

Massive arcade, mini-​golf, laser tag. I used to come here as a kid every year several times to play the arcade, winning tickets for their huge prize wall. In recent years this place has been up and down, seeming a little rundown but still good overall. Any kids or even young adults will love this place.

Came here October 11^th. None of the mini golf animatronics were working, the house one had a pile of jammed balls in it, all of the areas that were supposed to have water were extremely low and not on.
It looks like management has not ensured the place has been properly up kept, or enough staff on to maintain the place. The last working the counter indicated there was no one working who could even in jam the balls from the one hole.
If I had children, I would have been very disappointed for them.

I didn’t like this place when I was a camp counselor and had to bring 12 campers from my group here.
I didn’t like it this past weekend when my husband had a company party here, either. I don’t know what it is, but it’s very seedy. Run down. Not fun.
Everybody on the staff seemed super grumpy and it was clear that nobody wanted to be there. It seemed like every other game was broken or out of order. The rides were fun for the kids (seven and three) but even they got bored quickly.
I wouldn’t go back again on my own volition for sure. It’s just not worth it!

I love this place. It’s never as busy as some of the other similar places so you can always play a game and the kids never have to elbow in to play their favorite game. The staff are young but they are super friendly and professional. First, we bought 6 kids passes for around $ 100 and the young man at the counter threw in two putt putt passes so my wife and I could play too. Then my daughter lost her ticket for 20 tokens and one of the girls at the putt putt counter overheard us and gave her 20 tokens. The 6 kids passes that we bought got the kids putt putt, rides inside, a go cart ride, and 20 tokens. We were there for about 3 hours just on the passes.
Most places today just hustle you through without much thought but I really feel like they take pride in customer satisfaction at this place.

Although I was pouting the whole day about coming to this side of town, I ended up having a good time. There are really young teenagers that work there, but they gave the birthday kid a really good party. They were very attentive and made sure to wait while we gathered all the kids for laser tag. They have to have so much patience to deal with all those kids running around. I will definately bring my nephews here again.

I haven’t been to this establishment since 2007, but there is no where else quite like it in this day and age. It’s Chuck E. Cheese’s evil twisted caged cousin. It has go karts, two arcades, teacups, miniature golf, and batting cages.
This place is a wonder. I cannot believe it actually exists. It is really a treasure.

This is my absolute favorite thing about home in the Spring & Summer Holidays.
I feel old saying this, but I remember when this opened. I was a little kid with pigtails and missing teeth. Now, every time I go home I have to take my kid there.
Haunted Trails has 2 courses of miniature golf. The theme should be obvious from the name. Haunted houses, skulls, and ghouls line the courses. The water hazards are fountains that look like blood.
Having a bit of an overdose of the Munsters and the Adams Family as a kid, this place was absolutely perfect.
As the park expanded and gained popularity 2 go karts tracks were made. One is your standard track, and the other is for adults– as the cars go much faster.
Inside near the golf course area are also a row of batting cages and an arcade. Many a token were lost in beating the Simpsons back in it’s heyday or skeeball or basketball hoops or putting golf balls and winning tickets in the Ninja Turtles Machine. Now this area still hosts game machines, but less of them and they’re cheaper to play.
Still more years later (man I hope I don’t die of old age by the time I finish this review) they added a whole other building to the mix. This is a MASSIVE arcade, pizza place to host parties, and additional rides including:
bumper boats and teacups (well they’re the same thing except theres skeletons on them of course).
Kids can have their fun with a variety of games in their arcade (personally I loved the color one as you got TONS of tickets for guessing correctly). It was downstairs to the left of the ramp in the center of the arcade.
If your kid has a birthday party there, one of the perks for the birthday kid is being put the money machine. It’s essentially a glass box with a wind machine that money flies around in. Your child has a time limit to grab as much as they can. It’s not real money. It’s prizes for different things around the park: tokens, tickets, rides, etc.
You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy this place. Kid at hearts and horror buffs alike will love this place. I plan on bringing a certain someone here on a really long date back home soon.
Now if only they had something like this over here in LA…
