Had my sons car in for an alignment after he inadvertently went off-​roading in his 95 Grand Prix. Service Manager Luis advised alignment was way out of specs, but his Master Technician test drove and inspected car, then spent extra time and completed alignment. When I picked up car Luis took the time to review before and after alignment specs and answer my questions. Will be back!

We are repeat customers and that will continue. The manager Jim has gone out of his way big time to help us out when we have run into problems associated with our car, not Pep Boys. The service done is top notch every time. I got turned off by a Pep Boys in another area but Jim and his store has me back and has my back.

Just terrible. Had a problem previously, but decided to try them again. Called on Wednesday afternoon and made an appt for a oil change and trans flush the next day at 9am. I said I would need to wait for it and they told me it would take about 1 ½ hrs.
Went to drop drop my car off and was told they didn’t have the Toyota trans fluid in stock. Said fine and I would just get the oil changed. They said it would be close to 2hrs before they could start on it. Waste my time… never again!

On our way across the country hauling a horse, a 38 foot trailer, two dogs and a cat we broke down. It was a Sunday of course. I found Pep boys on Unilocal and called. Jim Smilor, the store manager dropped everything to find a tow truck that would haul us to him. Being outside of the big city of Chicago I figured we were in for a good hosing. Jim and his wonderful staff proved me wrong. Not only were they able to fix the problem (and it was a complex one) but the fix, 3 new injectors and a fuel filter cost less than if the dealer did the repair AND they let us camp in the parking lot while they did the work.
Jim and his staff really care about their customers. Even though we were detained I would not have missed meeting these wonderful people for anything.
Where ever you are in the Chicago area make the drive to Joliet for your auto repairs. You will be treated fairly and kindly.

After trying for a week to find a decent place to look at my car I came here on a referral from a friend. The service manager, Jimmy, greeted me warmly with a handshake and a smile. I was surprised when he called me 30 minutes earlier than I expected to tell me my car was ready. When I came back in Mike told me that they would order a part and that he would call me as soon as it came in. My car was clean inside and they exceeded my expectations in taking care of me. I will definitely recommend this location to anyone who wants friendly and honest service.

After dealing with the shady business characters at NTB in New Lenox, I thought I’d take my ’01 Tacoma to Pep Boys to feel them out and get my brakes done. They turned out to be great and very honest. I know how to repair my truck and brakes, but hate doing brakes so I take it in. I also had them flush the coolant and change the transmission fluid since I have over 100k miles on my truck. They got me in and out pretty quick and on the time scale that they quoted me.
I also took my wife’s Matrix in there about 8 months later to get her first brake job done since she was roll’n original brakes on her ’07 Matrix with 87 000 miles on it. I told them to change both front and rear and they said they’d look at the rear to see if it needed it. I came back after 2 hours and they were done with the car. They told me the car didn’t need new rear pads so they only did the front… saved me over $ 150. Now that’s honest. They could have just done it and charged me, but they didn’t. They’ve won my business even if it’s a bit more out of the way than a local shop for me. That’s what good service is all about. Thanks Pep Boys service dept.
