Nice guy; good selection; nice walk around the park while you finish your frozen treat. Next time I think I’ll try a shake.

I’m noticing a pattern in the reviews: everyone is reliving the nostalgic memory of when Rich & Creamy used to be Creamy Delight. I too remember a time as a kid when I was ECSTATIC to order a turtle sundae with the most buttery, sweet and salty pecans. It was THEBEST. Now…just okay. Gone is my favorite turtle sundae, which has been replaced with something generic and unmemorable. Luckily, we still have the memory!

Historical place and great place to stop by on a hot summer day. Ice cream is delicious and creamy. Can definitely taste the ingredients and the home made flavor. Lines are pretty long and prices are higher than a cone at Mcd but it is worth it.

Been coming here since 1986 and it’s changed names — from Creamy Delight. Well it finally happen — CREAMY — key word is NO longer. I will now rename it for the owner and call this place«Rich’s Icy Cream» — emphasis on ICEY. After 28 years — I bow out — just better places out there doing the same thing and not cutting costs on their Taylor Ice Cream Machine recipe. Some places prefer to learn the hard way — your only as good as your last ice cream. Hope this changes — as this was a 5 star joint.

We were on our route 66 honeymoon trip and when doing research for our trip i stumbled upon this. With nothing better to do and craving for desert after stuffing ourselves at del rhea’s chicken basket we stopped here on a sunny wednesday afternoon in september. We were the only people here and we weren’t expecting anything special but the ice cream was remarkably good! It was also just a fun spot to hang out and eat your ice cream with a nice view of the prison from prison break and a nice photo-op with ‘Dicks on 66′, the teenager in me giggled with that.

We were traveling Rt. 66 from Chicago to OKC and this place was on our«must do» list. We were delighted that they had a park on the property and we ordered a banana split. It was the BEST! I can’t wait for another excuse to make it to Joliet just to get some Rich and Creamy! They also accepted our credit cards with no problem even though our information had said they wouldn’t.

Oh em gee! My favourite since I was a kid. One of the few places you can score a zebra cone. Or is the politically appropriate phrase twist cone? Either way, it’s awesome!

This place is a gem in joliet! I remember going here back in the 80s and 90s as a kid! It has changed names a couple times(used to be creamy delight), but one thing had remained is the quality! Some of my favorites are the caramel sundae with extra pecans(the combo of sweet and salty drives me insane!), the slushes are all solid(cherry has my heart)(they are even good mixed with ice cream!), and the dipped cones! I love the red cherry dipped cone with crunch topping added! It will make you wanna slap your momma or anyone close to you! No other ice cream joint will do the dip and topping together! They all tell me they can’t do it, but this place has been doing it for me for years! #so piss on the others! #you suck The sad thing is I am lactose intolerant, but I don’t care when it comes to rich & creamy! It’s so worth a case of the shits! #until next time kiddies!

Oh god. I remember the hot summer days when I walked here in grade school from St Johns at the end of the year. This is right near my uncle’s auto body shop. It has the most amazing ice cream in Joliet hands down. Don’t let the outside fool you, it might be a little shack thats been there forever but its… and it shares its name with a friend of mine.

The best ice cream you can get, and they don’t short you, I could not even eat all of the banana split I got, fantastic place

Hard not to love this place. It’s got ice cream, and it has two life-sized statues of the Blues Brothers on the roof! Who could ask for a better combination of stuff to make you smile? Well, the ice cream could be good. Well, it is! And there could be a park nearby to eat it in. Check! What, you still want more? Well, how about a historical tidbit? According to the official«Joliet Kicks on Route 66» web site(which I looked at when trying to find the actual name of the place, since I just call it «the Blues Brothers Ice Cream Shop»), the«Rich & Creamy» ice cream stand in Route 66 Park is the official starting point for Route 66 in Joliet. So you’ve got historical marker, pop cultural icons, and yummy frozen treats, all wrapped up in one little roadside hut in Joliet. Good enough for me! Head on down and enjoy.
