History
Established in 2011.
Omar’s Uptown opened in November 2011 bringing a long legacy of fantistic food and quality beverage selections to a new location with a different attitude. Chef Omar Barry and long time friend Bill Hurt set out to create an upscale dining experience with all of the big city feel that could be packed into the walls of a historic downtown Jonesboro Arkansas building.
Bill Hurt’s philosophy «There are a lot of places to eat in Jonesboro, but there are only two places to dine» is personified by the experience of a meal in the restaurant. Chef Omar Barry pushes the envelope of this philosophy by bringing back classic cooking styles and dishes with new and exciting ingredients, techniques, and flavors. Putting out exceptional food for over 15 years Omar is known for consistency. Never taking short cuts, allways following through with flavor profiles Omar’s Uptown is on the cutting edge of food preparation, technique and quality.
