Andy’s is the BEST frozen custard around and there are plenty of places to choose from. My favorite is the hot fudge espresso concrete. No one else has espresso flavoring, just cappuccino or mocha and that extra little bite of the espresso is through the moon! Look for the revolving cone out front.

Andy’s is one of a chain of places specializing in frozen treats. Concretes seem to be their most popular item. I usually get vanilla with caramel and chocolate chip cookie dough. I rarely come here because Joplin has a Shake’s, which is to Andy’s what Burger King is to McDonald’s except Shake’s is much more local. Last time I was at Andy’s the staff were too busy entertaining themselves to properly mix my concrete, so I had to do it myself with the spoon, which was messy but got the job done. I wouldn’t take that as a sign of regular poor service, but I’ve never been impressed with these guys in any way, really. Nothing seems to set them apart from other similar establishments. Maybe I’m wrong there. You can decide for yourself. They’re good, good enough for a visit.

My husband and I went for a late night treat. SO good. We each had the brownie explosion and it was rich and full of greatness. The lady at the window was very friendly and helpfull as we tried to decide what to get. We will be back for sure.

Way yummy but a lil pricey. Sometime Price Cutter has really good coupons sometimes. Check the back of the receipt. Great service. Also, indoor and outdoor seating is available, as well as, a drive thru.

My husband and I always stop here on our way to seeing family in Oklahoma or on the way back up. The employees are always welcoming, the bathrooms are always clean and the custard is always delicious! Today my hubby ordered a chocolate shake and as always he was completely satisfied. I ordered the James Brown Funky Jackhammer. I always seem to order this one. It has vanilla custard with a deep hole of hot fudge right in the middle. Plus brownie bits blended up into the custard as well for a sweet taste that makes my mouth water just typing this up! You really can’t go wrong here. They also make their custard fresh every hour! It’s worth a stop in even if you’re just driving through.

Best custard in town! The chocolate is as good as the vanilla! I just had the blackberry concrete it was delicious. The blueberry concrete is really good also.

Loved this. Great custard and good prices. I’m sure going to try to make it back before we leave the area.

Sure, it might«only» be frozen custard but the business is bright and clean, great for families, and the young folks who work there are so friendly and professional. And the custard is really good. They have quite a menu, plenty of different items and flavor to choose from. Me, I just like a good old fashioned hot fudge sundae. It’s my favorite place to go to when I’m in Joplin and need an ice cream/frozen custard fix.

Meh. Not sure what all the hub bub is about. It was just like DQ but much more unhealthy.

You have to be kidding me… I would rather go get a McD’s cone for 49cents.

My husband and I love this place… and have been known to make the 45 mile trek just to get some Andy goodness. We tried a taste test… he got Andy’s and I got some from the establishment next door ;)…needless to say I was left disappointed while he was gloating… My fave is the Pecan Praline or the butterscotch jackhammer. The employees are super friendly and fast! I feel a trip to Joplin coming on!

This is my new favorite custard place(sorry Shakes! I still love you). Their seasonal flavors are great: try the blackberry concrete in the summer, or the pumpkin pie concrete in the fall. You also can’t go wrong with the cookie dough concrete, which always has lots of big chunks of cookie dough. There can be a long line during the summer, inside or in the drive-through, but it always moves quickly.

This place is yummy! My wife got expresso Oreo concrete and I got the jitter bug. We were a little confused at first because we went through drive thru. There are two menu boards along the way but you order at the window. Service is fast and friendly. We are definitely going back.

Who doesn’t love a cup of creamy smooth frozen custard!!! Andy’s is definitely the best place in town. Now, some people will compare it to Shakes because it too is frozen custard and on the same street in Joplin. Andy’s is a little more pricey for the amount you get in the cup, but it far exceeds in flavor! Try it, you’ll love it!

Grew up in Springfield, MO with Andy’s. I am happy to report that they have kept up the top quality of their frozen custard and friendly service over the past 20+ years. This is the standard that I use to compare other legends such as Shakes, and Ted Drewes. After trying other frozen custard places, I still think Andy’s is the Best! I am so glad that it’s in Joplin.

I really think the custard tastes the same at all of the frozen custard chains… I know a lot of people consider that blasphemous, but I do! Prices are pretty much the same as other chains too. Andy’s has an advantage over Shake’s to me in that you can actually go inside this particular location to place your order, and if it’s not too busy there’s a place to sit and enjoy your treat. They have a lot of options which means you can have malts in flavors other than vanilla or chocolate. I’m a fan of the key lime concrete or stolen brownie chunks concrete. When you want an unhealthy, delicious treat this is a good place to stop in South Joplin.
