I LOVE this place! I started off with an original gyro with a tabouli salad on the side. Amazing! The meat is delicious, the pitas tender and yummy, and the portions are HUGE! This is definitely a place to eat for lunch… and then save the rest for dinner. I’ve been super happy with eating the chef’s special($ 6.95) which always includes something really tasty plus a mediterranean salad on the side. The salad is fresh, the dressing amazing, and it is just pure heaven. So much good food and so little time.

I totally agree with Ginger. Arde is my father and our whole family has put all our energy into giving the best service as possible. I cannot remember a time since i was 7 that i wasnt involved with something in the restaurant(s). I think the thing that sets us apart is that Arde is almost always there to greet you at the door. I do agree about the inconsistency and that is something we are working on. With the baklava we are always trying new recipes and sometimes Arde makes it and other times the manager makes it and it tastes very different but still good. And the issue that was mentioned with the chef being a waiter is true! i was a waitress and a chef’s helper many days i worked at the bistro. Granted i have been trained on how to cook since i was young, but i can definitely work the credit card machine :) Sometimes when we dont have waiters/waitresses show up with have to do the best we can, we are just human! I appreciate hearing what people have to say about Ardes establishments, dont hold back!

This place meets or exceeds my three biggest criteria in rating any restaurant; taste, atmosphere, and value for price paid. It’s a little hole in the wall on Main Street but it is very classy and tastefully done, and the food is to die for. I love the Chicken Elizabeth but really crave their gyros which are served in such a manner(coated with a Greek salad) that will ‘spoil’ you for future gyro purchases in mall food courts and the like. Friends rave about the gyro and spuds, so I suppose the spuds are pretty good too(not my fave). Everything is just perfect at Arde’s and the food is surprisingly affordable. I think Arde’s Villa, owned by the same man, has frightened away a lot of diners particularly those who are older and have heard one too many stories of paying $ 100+ for a meal at Arde’s Villa. I think that is unfortunate because a couple can eat well at Arde’s Bistro for less than $ 20. The only thing keeping Arde’s from a 5 star rating from me is inconsistency that comes with a small operation like this one; sometimes they have wonderful baklava and other treats, but not daily. Sometimes takeout is quick and efficient, other times you have a long wait and cashier is really a cook and doesn’t know how to operate the debit card machine, a new server who is confused about menu items… stuff like that is disappointing. All in all, it’s a great place!
