Cloud 29 Cab Company

No stars. (Unfortunately to post this site makes you give a rating) Moved to this area a little over a month ago and have a vehicle. Tonight I decided to have a few drinks and couldn’t drive. (Trying to avoid a DUI like people should do) I just needed a quick run to the store. Well I looked online for reviews as I am new here and my son is in the field so I really dont know the area much. Decided to call this company as I saw good reviews. Never ever again. I called and just got a voice mail. I left my name, number, and address as was instructed and geeeeeez yup it’s another company who doesn’t respond. Have now waited an hour and a half to be fair. Then again I shouldn’t have to wait that long to see if a business really cared about calls and returning messages. Well lesson learned, I might me new around here but this will be a company I absolutely never call again.

We’ve taken Cloud 29 Cab twice — both times to Pappy & Harriet’s — and they provide without a doubt the best taxi service I’ve ever experienced. I was going to write a review after our first ride with them but they weren’t on Unilocal and when I checked after our New Year’s Eve ride, they were still not listed, so I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands. Hope they don’t mind that I’ve added them.
First time we took them was in October when my BFF was visiting from LA with her new boyfriend the same weekend my brother-​in-​law and his fiancée were staying with us, so of course we made plans to go to Pappy & Harriet’s. No one was up for DD duty, which meant we needed a cab.
Since we were hoping to squeeze all six of us into one taxi, I wanted to make sure a van would be available so I called Cloud 29 Cab a couple of days in advance to see if I could reserve a van to take us to Pappy’s and back. They were super nice and took our reservation.
The Cloud 29 van arrived at our home in Joshua Tree just as scheduled and I could see right away we were in for a treat because this was no ordinary taxi. The doors opened automatically and we all piled into a very nice upscale van with an amazing sound system. We had the choice of over a hundred satellite channels or we could connect our mobile devices to the vehicle’s entertainment system and listen to our own music or stream our internet playlists (ended up doing a bit of both). So we were already in total party mode as we were rolling towards Pappy’s.
The best part though was our driver, Jason (it turned out he is also the owner and, like us, moved here from LA), who was so much fun! He told us he always tries to do Pappy & Harriet’s rides himself because he has such a great time doing them, which I totally believe.
We just took Cloud 29 Cab again on New Year’s Eve and again our experience couldn’t have been better. I had made reservations which was a good thing because when Jason came to pick us up from Pappy & Harriet’s, there were more people needing cabs than there were cabs, and a group of people tried to get into our van right in front of us but he told them the taxi was reserved for us. He said though that he’d come right back for them and would keep coming back until everyone was home safe.
If you’re tired of cab companies that are rude or don’t give a damn, I urge you to try Cloud 29. You will not be disappointed. Their rates are very fair also and actually lower than other cab companies I’ve taken that don’t have anywhere near the service or features.
