Omg! This little shop is heaven. We came up the stairs with a group of people intent on going into the little candy store, which is always bursting at the seems and way overcrowded. I literally don’t even know how people shop in there and able to find what they are looking for in a line that loops all the way around the store. Anyways, we stopped inside here waiting for friends and this place is a gem. The owner, as sweet as she could be, saw me sniffing and looking around for the mountain air room spray to go over the potpurri and refresh it and she politely told me she was out but that I could keep the tester. I was so thrilled since I spray mine everyday to keep it as fresh as the day I bought it and it makes the whole house smell that wonderful Christmas. She even has a storefront online and etsy and even though she didn’t have it listed on her site, always ask and she may be willing to help you out and provide something that you found in store!

As soon as we opened the door to the shop the lovely scent of soaps and candles filled the air. The nicest lady started talking to us. She was just darling. She told us about her business(she HANDMADE all her soaps, potpourri, candles, everything!) and what each product was. I had the hardest time deciding. I eventually got a fabric wrapped lavender and honey(I think) soap and potpourri. I love my potpourri! The smell lasts a long time and makes every room smell amazing. It’s supposed to last 6 – 8 months, and after that, you can bring your potpourri back to her and she can re scent it!

Amazing! The Julian Soap Company is tucked away on the second floor near the candy shop. It’s a small space filled with handmade soaps, candles, and potpourri. The lady at the shop is welcoming and gave us time and space to look/smell. The rose petal soy candle smells so amazing! It gives the room a lovely, light scent… I don’t think I’ve come across a rose scent quiet like it.(Then again, I’ve never really liked rose-scented things… until this.) My boyfriend is obsessed with it and finds every reason to use the candle. We’ve actually started rationing it so it can last until the next time we are in Julian to pick up more. I can’t wait to try the other products the shop has to offer.

Love this little place! They sell hand-made soap products that smell great! Their products are priced a little higher than your typical bar of soap at Target but they are also much higher quality! They have a lot of variety and the staff is great!

Generally, I’m a shower gel kind of girl, but one step in the door at Julian Soap Company and I totally changed my mind. Rows of beautiful, hand-made soap lined the shelves and Michaeline kindly greeted me at the door. The soaps are handcrafted with pure essential oils, natural ingredients and some even have exfoliants, which also add a beautiful touch and give your skin that healthy glow. I picked up a bar of spearmint goat’s milk, and French rain. The spearmint oatmeal is fresh and heavenly scented, and leaves my skin super soft. I haven’t tried the French rain one yet, but it smells incredible. I’m kicking myself for not buying 4 and getting $ 1 off per soap. I also picked up 100% pure lavender shea butter hand cream in a small tin. My GOD that stuff is a miracle! I keep it in my purse and it really has saved my cuticles. During the day I take it out and put a little on my hands and elbows, and the scent of fresh lavender really dials down my stress when I’m running in between meetings for my day job, juggling taking care of my Grandma and teaching 4+ hot yoga classes a week on top of it. They also have really nice room sprays, I also bought one in French Rain. Having just spent a few weeks in France — I can vouch — it makes me feel like I’m standing in the garden at Tulieres on a beautiful rainy day. Really glad that there’s a website too! Going to place that order now. Thanks Michaeline!
