Carries some things that jerrys doesn’t. Prices can be a little higher on some stuff but that is a given for being a smaller store in a small town and the convenience/​less of a drive.

Super cool old hardware store! In an old building, the store seems to carry everything you could ever want. Set in a series of adjoining rooms, it has a feel of a vintage store where new collections of cool tools, hardware, and lumber await around every corner! I only went for bulk screws and a broom rack, but I could have spent hours browsing around looking at all the merchandise! A gem of a find in JC — support local, shop at B & I! I certainly will go back here before I head to Jerry’s or Home Depot next time.

This could be a long story because it transpired over 4 months of time. I’ll try to be brief. I have been a frequent shopper here at one of our local stores. The prices are higher but it is convenient and I do like to support local businesses. I had been bringing my mower in for service and repairs and Nate the repair guy has done a good job and the price wasn’t bad. Then I brought in the Junction City Grange mower. He said it could take up to a month to get the back ordered part. He also informed me they would not be doing mower repair anymore. I said OK. Well the part didn’t come in for about 3 months, then when it did another part that was available at the time was now back ordered. I found both of the parts online for a decent price and they could have received them both in about a week. I spoke to Jim one of the Managers and he said he was going to look into it. After 3 months when I was about ready to pick it up and take it somewhere else he offered to fix it for the cost of parts because of the inconvenience. Unfortunately when I picked it up a month later the labor was on the bill and when I asked Nate about it he said Jim wrote the bill up. The conversation between us was tense and confrontational. I think I’ll go to Hurds Hardware in Harrisburg and Jerry’s in Eugene from now on.

I started renting an apartment in Harrisburg and one of the burners got some paint spilled on it so I decided to change it out myself instead of waiting for the landlord. I really didn’t want to drive all the way to Eugene so I hit up True Value.
There was a young kid working behind the counter, he greeted my promptly and directed me to the stove parts. I found what I needed and was out of there in less than 5 minutes.
A little bit of small talk at the counter and friendly service, that’s the difference between most places in Eugene.
The prices on somethings seemed a bit high is why I gave it 3 stars. Definitely call around before you come in and get overcharged a little bit.
