This retail center, located in Kahului, is bordered by Hana Highway, Haleakala Highway and Koloa Street. Costco and Kmart, and The Courtyard by Marriott are close by and on your way to the Kahului Airport. It is also located across from Kanaha Pond Wildlife Sanctuary. Built in the mid-1990’s, it was originally developed by A&B and was proposed as Maui’s first Outlet Mall. It consisted of three parcels of land totaling 11 acres. The first of several proposed buildings to be built was the Apex Building. Several retail stores opened but never really got off the ground and it failed to lure the outlet stores it was planned for. The one restaurant that opened, called The Beak and Fin, eventually transformed into the popular favorite; Da Kitchen. Over the years, several buildings were built on the remaining parcels which included the Kele Center, BMW, Acura, Tesoro Gas, Servco Lexus, and Hawai’is only Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
