We are a waterfront bar that offers stunning views of Kailua Bay. From here you can watch all the boardwalk and water activities while «chill’n» with a cold drink and some great food. It is also a great place to take in the amazing daily sunsets Kona Hawaii offers.

Chill’n On the Bay has a full bar and is a great place to get cold beer and a pizza or maybe a Mai Tai. We also have awesome fruity tropical exotic drinks and a expansive Pupu menu featuring gourmet pizzas, Chicago Eisenberg black angst steak hot dogs and polish sausages along with chicken wings, hot sandwiches, salads and island made deserts.

History

Established in 2014.

Owned and operated by long time friends Mick Shockley and Casey Mahaney, Chill’n is a laid back old school Hawaiian bar and a place you can come to chill out in Paradise.

We stopped in for lunch and left pleased with the meal of two Big Kahuna dogs with a side of waffle fries. The dogs were good and fries were pretty tasty and the view over the water was very nice along with a cool breeze. For an economical lunch, this is the place to go. My only complaint was that the buns appeared to be not that fresh, but edible. For me, the bun is important, nice and soft over a dryer tougher bun, makes a difference. All in all, we’d definitely come back and try the pizza. Beer selection (craft) was decent but all bottle and cans, still, there is something for everyone, check it out!

Beautiful location and friendly staff, like Rachel and Scott, with high quality standard American menu like pizza and bratwurst. Catch a breeze and a beer or your favorite cocktail while watching the Dolphins through a complimentary telescope.

Have to love the atmosphere and the title is perfect. Very laid back and its right on the bay. They had a few Kona Brewery beers and we got the Nick’s Mai Tai which was very strong (3 oz of liquor) but well balanced. The Shipwreck was fine but not as good as the Mai Tai. Staff was really friendly. Not busy on a weekend right before sunset.

Chill’n On the Bay is exactly what you’re gonna be doing at this spot. Great location and really well made drinks! The bartenders seem to be really friendly and know their stuff. This is the kind of spot that one could lose track of time in, which I think is what you are supposed to do while in Hawaii. We ordered one of their pizza’s and it was good as well. Not incredible but a solid pizza none-​the-​less. Their Mai Tai’s are a little more pricey than some other places around but they are also some of the best I have ever tasted so they’re well worth the extra couple bucks. The bartender was even nice enough to add a little more dark rum at my request. Will definitely chill here again next time we come back to Kailua.

Great place to hang for happy hours and watch killer views of sunset or simply people watching. Ordered off the menu and decided on the pizza. The pizza wasn’t the best but it was ok. Had a few slices and had the rest to go. Usual barflys. Server/​bartender was nice and friendly.

–cute little place with a great view of the ocean
Cons:
–cheese pizza (Definitely not gourmet. Tasted like something you’d make at home. Not totally horrible, but not good. Definitely not worth the price.)
–spicy hot wings (Not horrible, but not great. Flavor was alright but I didn’t care for the texture of the chicken.)
Would come back for the drinks and view, but not the food.

The only thing they’ve got going here is the view and good drinks. The service was extremely slow, even though there were barely any customers there. The waitress was friendly (the girl with a shaved head) but it took forever to get our menu. While we sat and waited, the mosquitos had me as an appetizer. Wear bug repellent if you plan on sitting outside.
We shared a pizza and only ate half because it was really greasy. So greasy that my son threw up in the parking lot right after.
Only come here for drinks and want to literally chill on the bay all night long… don’t expect much from food or service.

Awesome cocktails, relaxed vibe, great view. Pleasure meeting Casey, one of the owners. Sipped cocktails and enjoyed sushi from the restaurant around the corner. Beachcomer was a good strong drink, dark and stormy was nice too. Come chill!
One downside is the spelling and punctuation of the name make it hard to hit in searches…

What a great place to eat. The pizza was fresh and delicious! You have a great view overlooking the bay. The service is fast and very friendly. Small family feel of the restaurant. I would highly recommend if your looking for a nice chill and relax place to eat.

Friendly fast service! Enjoyed ½ Big Island & ½ Pele Pizza, it was flavorful and delicious, we should’ve recommended light sauce but overall it was very tasty plus with great atmosphere, as we were sippin we watched a few whale spurts out by the Pier. Reasonable priced too

Something about the location tends to be murder to great businesses. I’ve seen thus place sell falafel, tacos, and now bar food. Mostly pizza, hot dogs and booze. The polish dog is awesome. I’ll be back for sure.
