I’ve had such great service from the people that run this business. They really take care of you and they are there when you need them! Betty, the owner, is willing to go the extra mile to help her customers. My experience here really left an impression on me and I’m going to be happy to go back whenever I need to.

If there were 10 stars to click, I would have done it for the team (Todd, Hank & Melissa) at Mac Made Easy! When my old laptop crashed and the on-​line techs couldn’t get it to respond, I was devastated as I had failed to back up my work for the last 3 months. So the search began for someone who was a wizard at retrieving data, and fortunately my husband and I chose Mac Made Easy in Kailua, for the task. We flew over from Molokai in time for our 9:00 a.m. appointment and I nervously handed my unresponsive computer to Todd. Off the bat, he made me feel that there was a good chance that he would be successful and disappeared to a room upstairs. While he was doing his magic, I was downstairs reading up on my new Mac Air, but having trouble concentrating until Todd reappeared with a big smile on his face indicating that all was well. He proceeded to transfer all data to my new Mac Air, recommended a back-​up gadget, and turned me over to Hank… another wizard… who worked with me until all my questions were answered. We finished with no rush for our return flight to Molokai. Since then, we’ve been singing their praises to anyone who will listen! Carol Merrill-​Burgess

Here’s a BIG shout out to Mac Made Easy in Kailua… Mahalo for the acknowledgement I was present even though they were on the phone, to the look-​you-​in-​the-​eye service– AMAZING staff! I had an Outlook debacle due to too little space on my Computer. I explained my business is being connected & I’d pay extra to get it fixed FAST. Signed the paperwork for files to be moved to an external hard drive. Got a call in 2 hours (after paying for FAST service). Problem fixed & no need for external hard drive. THAT’S honest service. Did I mention I had NO trouble finding parking & was in/​out in under 10 minutes each time?! Seriously, save the commute & headache of a trip DT & just go to Kailua. If I could give 10 stars I would. Nice work Todd & Hank

I was in a pinch and needed service immediately as my office is in our home and internet was not working. I didn’t figure anyone could come over right away but sure enough within an hour someone was here. The technician Hank spent a good deal of time figuring out what the problem was but still was concerned about a possible glitch. He told me please call right away if there is still any problem. The next morning — there was… and Hank came right back out to diagnose what was happening. Very happy with the kind, courteous service and professionalism as well as wanting to get it right. Thank you Mac Made Easy and thank you Hank.

Mac Made Easy Kailua saved my semester. They went the extra mile to help me when my computer died. My computer would not charge using the power cord so I took it to the Ala Moana Apple store. After looking at my computer for 2 seconds the worker said that Apple would charge me $ 1,000 to replace a part. I said thank you and went home. I called Apple customer service for an alternative (because I do not have $ 1,000 laying around) and they sent me to Mac Made Easy in Kailua.
The store was really easy to find, right on Kailua Road and directly across from Kalapawai café. Everything was neatly arranged, clean and welcoming. I was surprised to see that they not only fix computers but sell everything you might need from Speck cases to iPods. The staff were warm, friendly and reassuring. They promised they would do their best to fix my computer or at least get all of my files off of it. I didn’t have an external hard drive at home so I purchased one at the store and left, worried sick.
The next morning I received a call from a Mac Made Easy technician about my computer. Moisture had gotten into my motherboard and it was damaged. As you know, water damage = no warranty but he was able to clean it up and get me a brand new motherboard for free in 3 days! He said a small part needed to be ordered and would take up to 2 weeks, I said no problem. The next day, I received a call that Mac Made Easy actually had one in stock and I could pick it up later that day. A few hours later my computer was safely back home and is being kept well away from anything that contains water.
I appreciate everyone at Mac Made Easy, not only because of their computer fixing skills but their kindness as well. After the simple glance that the Apple store gave, I was disheartened about paying a lot of money. I was a bothered that the technician refused to open it and see what the real problem was. Truthfully I don’t blame the Apple worker but I had hoped for more personalized service. Mac Made Easy gave me the service I was looking for. Not only were they kind while I was in the store but they also gave me updates over the phone. The technician could have told me the same thing that the Apple worker had said but he looked for a way to fix it. Because of my positive experience there I will continue to support them. I will look there first for my next Macbook Pro or any computer related purchases. Mac Made Easy has gone from being my second opinion to my best option.

These guys are awesome! So great to have someone so capable and so available right here in Kailua. When my 2009 («vintage») MacBook Pro died, I was devastated, and it didn’t help that all the genius bars on the other side of the mountain couldn’t see me for several days (and also can no longer be scheduled online.) But Mac Made Easy saw me that day and the repairs were successfully made within a week.

I always leave the Apple store happy. Unfortunately, I don’t say the same thing for the kailua Mac Made Easy store. All I needed was a Magsafe Power Adapter. I explain what I have and what I need for my MacBook Pro. I even point it out to the guy on a computer on the table and he tells me, «No, this one is the same thing; it’s just a different form factor.»
I say, «That’s not what I need.» He insists. And I haven’t been keeping up with the newest macbooks and the changes in the connectors for the past two years so I take his word for it.
Sure enough I get home and it doesn’t fit and it makes me upset. I drive back to the store with my laptop this time, pull the plug on the one I pointed to earlier and said, «This is the one.»
«Oh. I must have grabbed the wrong box.» Lies. The guy specifically said the form factors were the same. What?
I make mistakes, too. I get it. But you don’t tell me you grabbed the wrong box when you gave me wrong information.
I would’ve like to have just returned it, got my money back and drove to town and buy it there and be happy. My bad for taking the shorter route.
Customer service is not rocket science. You make a mistake, fix it. Then do something to make it better. Saying, «I’m sorry for the extra trip» doesn’t cut it. Do something, anything, to dig yourself out of the whole. Is that asking too much? I’m frustrated and my only recourse is to take even MORE time to tell Unilocal about it. Now, when I go to Unilocal and I see a 3 star average, I get it. Should’ve read these first.
2 stars because they’re on the Windward side but that’s about it. I’ll make the drive next time. And that’s saying a lot.

Although I love shopping at the Apple Store, having an Apple reseller and service location on the Windward side is a great alternative for me. I’ve bought several Macs from the Kailua store and the customer service there has always been friendly and excellent. Here’s hoping for more years of business with this store!

My 2008 MacBook was running really slow and finally quit operating. I took it into Mac Made Easy in Kailua. It took a couple of days to analyze the problem. They told me my hard disk partitioning was corrupted. They backed up the hard disk data, repartitioned my hard disk, and then restored all the data. It now runs great, just like when it was new. It had been running slow for quite a while. I am super satisfied with their work. The price was very reasonable.

I’ve used these folks twice and been 100% satisfied. The intake was efficient and friendly. First time I needed my hard drive replaced. The second time they upgraded my RAM to improve my processing speed which had gotten slow with a new operating system update. Both times the work was done in less than 24 hours, on budget, and with flawless results. The fact that they have my «vintage» Mac operating like new is very much appreciated.

Went there for a replacement battery they wanted 190 bucks found it online for 34 said they couldn’t sell it to me over the counter. Need to charge a service fee.

I have to agree with others who found customer service a bit lacking. Although I can’t complain about their technical competency, I dislike condescension which is why I thought I’d skip the Genius Bar this time. However, after MME gave my iMac it’s last rites, I took it to Apple Kahala, where they not only fixed my iMac and cleaned it up to look brand new again, they treated me like royalty.

I’ve been a PC guy for a long time. My girlfriend is a long time lover of Macs. Having suffered a lot of recent unhappiness with my PC, I jumped and bought an older model macbook. It worked great for a month and then… started to fail.
I took my macbook into Mac Made Easy and had them check it out. I was given the advice that it would cost more to repair it than to get a newer one. They didn’t charge me any money after informing me that my mother board/​logic board (??) was failing. The keyboard was also failing. They gave me a few options as how to put a bandaid on it and gave me a lot of advice.
The people who work there are incredibly friendly and I personally feel they are looking out for their customer’s best interest. My girlfriend has had her mac serviced there a few times and they also have saved her money using extra parts and showing her shortcuts.
The parking is easy. NO SIGNING UP TO SEE A MAC SPECIALIST ONLINE (which is hard to do when your computer fails…) and easy to find. If you got a mac, don’t want to deal with the crowds at the malls, and are looking for honest and friendly advice, check em out.
Plus, I think they are a local company so win-​win.
When I buy a new mac, I’ll probably use them again.

It’s really not a good idea to make unsubstantiated claims that have no factual basis. It sounds like you are blaming the customer for your sales agent’s neglect of informing the customer that you can’t fix logic boards. You can only replace them.
No one damaged the logic board by baking it. The logic board is not operational for unrelated reasons. Baking logic boards is a relatively common way to fix minor problems with logic boards that have cracked solder points. Because the baking did not work it points to a failed component rather than failed (or cracked) solder points.
I have been in this industry for over 25 years, working in the biggest data centers in the country, and have been tinkering with computers since I was a kid with my VIC-​20 and Sinclair ZX80. Your attempt to blame me for the problem is insulting.

Customer service doesn’t seem to be here at this place. Calling to inquire about coming in to have my product fixed the lady on the phone sounded distracted, quickly answered and then with a few «uh huhs» promptly hung up the phone. No thank you for calling or have a nice day NOTHING. just a feeling I was being a bother with my questions. I won’t come here, nor will I send anyone here.
If you can’t catch me as a client over the phone why the heck would I walk in and let you make me feel like a bother in person.

I’ve lived in Kailua for 6 years and never once thought to take my Apple products here when something needed fixing. I always thought it was best to go the Genius Bar, except after awhile, you get tired of driving all the way into town, weaving through the crowds at the Apple stores, and then having to make an appointment and just feeling like you’re being rushed because let’s face it – Genius Bar always has a crazy line or wait.
When my laptop died on me a couple of weeks ago, I thought for sure this was it. I was going to need a new computer. Instead of going all the way into town, I thought I’d try out Mac Made Easy. First off, I’m so glad there’s parking. Secondly, the store is clean and cute, and there’s tons of Apple products and accessories on display for purchase. I was greeted (and still am greeted each time) I walked into the store and was promptly assisted.
I paid the $ 60 diagnostic fee, gave them my computer after answering a series of questions about its condition, and the next day I got a call that my computer was alive again! It was a simple issue apparently and I didn’t have to pay any additional fees. AWESOME. When I went to pick up my computer, they mentioned I could have the rubber mat on the bottom of my laptop replaced for FREE so hello? Hell yea I had them replace it.
I already know I’ll need a new battery for my laptop soon and should probably get a new hard drive for it, so when the time comes I’m definitely coming back here.

I was super happy to have this store opened up. They have been making many improvements including the expansion and now offering free classes and other services. They have a great staff. Chris is awesome and he does house calls.
It is much better than going to the Apple store, you get more personal service and don’t have to wait.

In most cases I like to support local businesses, but when it comes to technology, I do not see that same approach need be applied. Especially when the «local» business is ran & operated by culturally insensitive transplants.
I have never experienced such lame and unprofessional customer service. Every employee I have spoken to has been rude, unapologetic, and condescending. They are conveniently in the dark on very important info. And answer every question as if you are bothering them and if you are not a paying customer. Specifically the two a-​holes who I had the misfortune of dealing with by the names of BLAKE and REUBEN. They never called me back when they said they would and when I called in they seemed to be bothered by my questions.
The owner, Betty, is also conveniently uninformed of anything that is going on and seems to think that is a valid excuse for her sh! t customer service.
If their technical skills are anything like their customer service skills than I am screwed and will probably need another repair soon. However I now know to NEVER use this terrible business again.
