Auto Analyst

I never thought it was even possible to find a shop like this. I live in the Chicago area and will try to coordinate service with visits to Kalamazoo just so I can go to Auto Analyst! Great honest service! We have taken two cars there and could not be happier. These people have saved us a fortune in unnecessary repairs and have taken such good care of us. I would not even try anywhere else in the area. Thank you!!!

Let me just begin by saying, if i could give them 0 stars, i would. Im a 20 year old that came out to kalamazoo for the weekend to see my buddy’s from home (chicago) Sunday comes around and it was time for me to head back for work monday morning. That is when i realized something was wrong with my car. I then took my car to them at 8pm on monday morning. 6 hours later they finally called me to tell me «what was wrong» with my vehicle. They then told me my engine and turbo had blown and that i would need a new engine and turbo ($ 3500) Being a young student myself, i did not have that type of money at the moment. I then decided to rent a uhaul with a trailer to get it back to chicago. When i got back to chicago i brought it to an auto shop that is good friends of the family. All that was needed for my car was a simple pvc valve pipe, oil change, and new antifreeze. $ 400 later my car is running perfectly fine without heavy damage to my pocket. I believe these guys are ripping off college kids that have exhausted their options. Bottom line DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP!

This is my second time sending a vehicle to these guys and i will always choose this shop for my repair needs. First vehicle was a 94 jeep and after they got done with it I never had another issue. Just sent my 96 jeep this time and once again they were great! Love their full diagnostic inspection philosophy, very trustworthy, customer friendly, thorough. Got my car out in a few hours and let me know the repairs coming up in the future. Decent pricing, always busy so book a time slot ahead but worth every penny.

Went to have a few things checked out. A good shop will give you an estimate for free. They wanted 50 $ just to look at it, but they agreed to drop that charge if I had them do the repair. Fair enough.
They charged a premium price for the part and repair, I probably could’ve got it done cheaper elsewhere.
Upon checking out, when I mentioned a student discount like I was told by other customers, they said they already dropped the price of doing a diagnostic, as if that was going over the top for me already.
I emailed them to add a few points to be checked and never got a reply. I told them to check my brakes, and when I picked up the car and asked about them, the staff awkwardly stared at each other and said, «sure they’re greater than 30%.» Their expression didn’t instill confidence, and I have a feeling they didn’t actually check my brakes.
But they did fix my climate control system in the peak of winter.

I first visited them in January about a noise my car was making. Turned out that some work done by another shop in November was faulty and Auto Analyst worked it out with them so I didn’t have to pay anything for repairs. When the part broke again, they held by their warranty and replaced it for no charge. That time, they came out to start the service while I was waiting for a tow truck, completely in the middle of traffic on Drake around 8 in the morning! They’ve also done my brakes for a reasonable price. Very kind to provide a ride to/​from work while they service your car (if it’s a 1 day job). Highly recommend.

These guys are GREAT! Very friendly and honest. I work in Kalamazoo but live in Grand Rapids and make sure I always bring any of my cars to Auto Analyst. Cannot recommend enough.

If there is a thing called «over the top customer service,» this place would be very close to having it. On top of great work on my ride, the people often went beyond expectations.
Ex. After dropping my car off to find out what was ailing it, I was ready to call a taxi to get back home. Instead the manager (Steve) offered to give me a lift. And it wasn’t exactly around the corner, either. Plus, it was a messy, snowy day. Not the type of day you’d want to be driving if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Along the way, he took the time to point out other reputable auto shops in the area, just in case I wanted to shop around. He didn’t have to do any of that, but I got the feeling that’s just how he is as a person and how AutoAnalyst treats its customers. Top notch.
