Goodbye Crutches

I ordered the iwalk free 2.0 crutch from Goodbye Crutches about 3 days after my foot surgery. My only regret is that I didn’t order it sooner as it has enabled me to be so much more mobile that I ever thought possible post foot surgery.
Goodbye Crutches delivery was prompt and the crutch was well packaged but the best thing was that a few days later they even sent me a get well card in the mail! No solicitations, no advertising, just a get well card. Now THAT’S lovely!
I can’t say enough about the positivity of this company and I do hope that if anyone reading this is considering doing business with them they won’t hesitate! Companies who actually care about customer service are few and far between and being in the service industry myself I really appreciate great service!

I love my rented knee scooter! It has eased my healing process by leaps and bounds. It was super easy to order and to assemble. Their customer service rocks

This is the second time I’ve ordered a knee skooter. I only wish I’d purchased the last one I rented. They actually take the rental amount you’ve paid toward the purchase. I hadn’t anticipated surgery on my Achilles Tendon. This time I decided to purchase a ssrefurbished one. It came the next day after ordering it! It was in very good condition for being a refurbished one. I highly reccomended doing business with Goodbuy Crutches. They are wonderful to speak with over the phone and a very fast turn around service.

Received my knee scooter within two days of ordering and as stated when ordering. Since I was going to have a 3 month recovery with a cast my doctor suggested I get a knee scooter. I found Goodbye Crutches online and ordered the knee scooter. I had been hobbling on my crutches just a day and a bit and I was miserable as the crutches were so difficult to handle and get from A to B with.
In rolled the knee scooter from Goodbye Crutches and it arrived as stated on invoice, 2 days. My husband got it out of box and set up within 5 minutes. It was amazing compared to crutches and the difference getting around my house was so much easier. Of course it’s hard to turn and rotate around in small hallways but I just balance myself with one hand and lift the back to help turn it around. Some reviews said the front of scooter was a little wide but I believe this is to make it stable so not to flip over. I don’t have a very big house but I make this scooter work as anything is better than the crutches. I love the basket in the front as easy to carry my phone and other little bits and pieces from A to B. I don’t find myself getting caught on any of the bolts or screws that someone said are sticking out, well not on this model as find it very clean and safe in that respect.
When the scooter arrived my husband couldn’t screw the cup holder as the threads on the screw were worn out. I called the company and right away the lady sent a new one. I honestly have no complaint as this scooter is just lovely and so much easier than those crutches. Nothing is going to be perfect when trying to get around with a cast so I am just thankful for the invention, clean, looks like new and other than the cup, which is not a biggie, I am pleased with this Goodbye Crutches product and customer service. With a cast nothing is perfect or easy unless you have someone doing everything for you, which is not realistic for most of us. So for me this product has giving me more independence, it’s faster and a lot more stable and more comfortable when going from A to B than those crutches. Safe driving and no speeding:))

Ordered my knee scooter after breaking my ankle and received it the next day with great video instructions sent by email. Free shipping both ways. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Even received a «get well soon» card in the mail. Great service. Will recommend to all my friends if they, unfortunately, need a scooter.

The knee scooter is much better than crutches in most situations. The scooter obviously doesn’t do stairs, but small elevation changes are not a problem if you take it slow. Where the scooter really shines is at my office, where I can rail down the hallways to the restroom and outside to my waiting driver.
Be careful on sidewalk cracks or uneven surfaces because if you hit them at an angle it can rip the handlebars out of your hands. I’ve taken to popping a small wheelie over these surfaces.
Very fast shipping. I only wish I’d ordered it sooner. It is well worth the $ 100/​mo in my opinion.

My daughter broke her femur and although she could walk with crutches, she would get tired with long distances. This was the only place I found (after days of searching) that had an alternative! Super fast turnaround!

Do not purchase the seated scooter if you are in a NON Weightbearing leg cast. I am a physician, and this product is impossible to use, and unsafe. The problem is that it is high off the ground, and unstable for mounting and unmounting with the use of only one leg. For those who are able to put pressure on their knee, the small knee scooter is safe and easy to use. Rent this one at your Peril! I complained to customer service and they were very snippy. Also, although they deliver the rental free, the return postage, which the customer pays, is $ 50, plus pickup fee if you are not in a position to lift the heavy scooter box and drop it off youself.

Great alternative to crutches.
Be aware of the shipping costs. I had to pay $ 66 to ship them back to Michigan from DC because the box did not meet the standard shipping dimensions.
The turning radius is a bit wide. I live in a studio, so I was constantly having to back-​up the scooter and turn it 2 – 3 times to make it go in in the intended direction. Also, the wheels don’t handle really well when absorbing sidewalk crevices.
However, the scooter will get you from point A to point B faster than crutches. If the turning radius issue is addressed and wheels with better shock-​absorption abilities are added, this will be a 5-​Star product.
Overall, I would still pick the scooter over the crutches.

I live in a hilly urban neighborhood and have developed a new-​found interest in pavement consistency. Crutches are harder than I thought: going uphill is hard, but downhill is actually the more difficult direction. The knee scooter lets you take it slow. You can even sit down and take five at the summit.
The hand brake is key to «throttling down» on a slope. My center-​of-​gravity is quite high, the wheels are smaller than a bike’s or a wheelchair’s, and that pavement gets rocky, especially the gravelly concrete. My technique is to place my good foot down at every big bump, taking the weight off the wheels and even sometimes lifting the rig over the worst terrain.
My knee scooter gave me back my mobility. I park it in the coat check at restaurants, fold it in half at the Starbucks, and even browse around stores and shops. The footprint is much smaller than crutches — at least the way I wield crutches — and I don’t feel as intrusive or infirm.
With luck, a broken bone is only a temporary adventure. With the scooter, I’ve been able to keep weight off my busted foot so I’ll heal faster. (I’m also elevating, chugging calcium supplements and using electrical bone stimulation.) A year from now, this will all be a fond memory.
But I’ll keep the
bookmark just in case some new adventure happens.
